Good news on the game controller topic: Today came my BT game controller from ebay, new for just 25 € + 9 € shipping: cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9131567353&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:DE:1On a first glimpse it looks very promising. I can open a serial BT-connection and each button is a character transmitted surrounded by dots. So I guess, tonight I will get the first game with controller support. Zodiac-feeling (even better as it fits better in the hand) even on the TX. Regards Henk

Yes! This is the Chainpus BT gamepad discussed in earlier threads? Brought back to life with possibilities. Looking forward to how this progresses...

Ok, it works for ZDoomZ, but:
1. there seems to be a small lag, but it is still playable 2. the handling isn't that great, the shoulder keys are difficult to reach 3. the TX is too big to fit into it. The Treo fits, but as it is BT, you can have it seperate from the PDA. 4. A real gamepad would be much cooler, but I fear they support only the HID profile? Does some one has a BT gamepad for normal PC use? Can anyone check it? (there is an app called BTSerial, try to connect to the gamepad and see if it shows something when you press a button.
Regards Henk
PS: Angel got the version for testing, somebody else want to try it?

Tinnus: you have to, even if it is not that comfortable as it could be, you will have to add it, just as option. Together with Treo-keys support and IR-keyboard support :-)
Anyone with a normal (PC, XBOX, PS) BT-Gamepad yet?

So far its a bit disturbing but playable. I play it "closed" outside the palm as it does not fit in, like a real paddle. Even with the delay its a great step because the palm keys are very fragile and not really usable..

Yeah, I've seen it. It looks very good, and would make the whole thing much better. It seems that this BT-gamepad is the only one you can get. Weird indeed... Who's going to do the mod first?
BTW: keyboard isn't finished yet, but I expect it soon.

See the changes.txt for the key-config. If it doesn't work for you, then your keyboard might be different? Is it Stowaway, 4-rows?

Question is, if it will be compatible at all. Does the keys which work, work always in the same way? Is it reliable? Do you have the feeling, it could be just a question of adjusting keycodes? What is says the about box of your keyboard-driver?

Ok, seems to be the 5 row thing. I will first add some debug stuff, where you can capture the keycode into a debug log. Then you could test all keys and we will see if it will be compatible with the Stowaway stuff. I don't know if there is a SDK for the 5-row keyboard, where they explain the frame the keyboard sends.

I have an IR keyboard by some random company-nexxtech. unfortunately it doesn't work at all with os5 devices. I was wondering if it would be difficult to alter the driver to get it to work.

ok, mr.chockuls, veggie, when you redownload the www.metaviewsoft.de/zdoomz_19.zip please enable debug_log and press some keys on your keyboard, during the game. And send me the log-file from inside the ZDoomZ-directory. Also download the IRMonkey: metaviewsoft.de/IRMonkey.prc, install it, press IRDA, see if it says "connected", select 9600, 8, None, 1, RTS/CTS, and press a key on your keyboard. If you see some stuff appear please post the string you see. Thanks Henk

Ok. 1st of all thanx for all ur work. secondly, my keyboard didn't work AT ALL up until now except with os4 devices. i tried irmonkey and pressed random keys on the keyboard. however, there is no pattern- if i press the same key twice i don't get the same code twice. hope this helps.
