I just upgraded from a Zire72 to a T5 today and have been spending the evening putting stuff back on it. I've gotten to putting UDMH back on (and subsequently needing to get a new reg code from Dmitry) as well as ZDoomZ.
Now it appears I have two issues:
1) The game plays in landscape mode regardless of how I set it. It sure looks pretty, but thanks to the button configuration it's utterly unplayable in landscape. Any way I can force it to use portrait mode? I realize there'll be a nice big black area at the bottom, but at least the game will be playable.
2) My WADs and related files are all in the appropriate directory on a 1 gig SD card. ZDoomZ doesn't see them. I copy the directory and WADs to the T5's internal storage area. ZDoomZ sees both (in other words, duplicate entries for each WAD in the launcher). Should I delete the ones on the memory card? Or preferably, is there a way to get it to scan both internal memory and the SD card and use one or the other?

1) Have you tried verison 1.4? Ther you shoudl be able to set portrait in the options. 2) IIRC, ZDoomZ should scan the cards for the right directory and then uses this volume.

I downloaded and tried 1.4 -- works much better, thank you. I also deleted the WAD files from the internal disk and it was still able to find the WADs on the SD card, so that seems to be working properly now, too. So now I'm trying something (and I'm doing this as I type, so bear with me) - I removed the SD card and reloaded ZDoomZ with the intention of having it scan and fail to find any available WADs. It gave me a fatal exception and a soft reset. - Went back into ZDoomZ after the rest and it did indeed scan and find no WADs. Must be one of those T5 instability things I've been hearing about. (Yes, I did the T5 ROM upgrade) - Forgot to re-enable UDMH after the reset (I'm still waiting for a new reg key from Dmitry), so I enable it. Went into ZDoomZ just to check again. IT's find. Hit the HOME icon; fatal exception in MemoryMgr.c, like:3752: Null handle. Yay. Can't click RESET. Force the issue with the pin. - Reset, re-enable UDMH, test ZDoomZ again before inserting the card, all is well. More T5 fun. - Insert card. Load ZDoomZ. Nondescript fatal exception. Tap RESET. Feh. - Re-enable UDMH, re-load ZDoomZ (with card inserted). Sure enough it finds the WADs. I'm thinking that maybe it might have been an issue with the location of the ZDK file on first install perhaps. *shrug* Works now. Thanks!

I'm beginning to see that. UPDATE: Um... yeah. I said it found the WADs, and that it did. Unfortunately it won't actually load them. Instead it gives me nice errors: Error while unzipping ( ok ) 1 ( ok ) Error while loading PNO ( ok ) 259 ( ok ) And I'm dumped back to ZLauncher. Rubbish and bollocks. Fine. File editor -> move the entire ZDoomZ folder from the SD card to internal drive. [Cue Jeopardy theme] [Idly scribble Planck's Constant on post-it note] Ah! Done. Load ZDoomZ. Fatal exception. Naturally. Reset. Reload UDMH, load ZDoom. Bloody hell ... now the emulation module (ZDK) has gone walkabout. Fine, replace the ZDK -- and just for good measure, reset, because I know it's going to force me to anyway. They should have made the reset pin chrome, too; at this rate, it's going to be a nub by next week. Reset/UDMH/ZDoomZ. Success! Verdict: God hates me. Oh, and ZDoomZ would rather your WADs be on the internal drive, not the SD card.

Strange, i have all my files on the sd card, the only files in internal drive are the saves et and zdoomz cfg file. Anyway if it works now... dont touch anything Nota : perhaps zlauncher dont help you when you use such programs who need tons of dynamic ram. It use some...

I have 40 megs free, though UDMH apparently reports the max chunk size is 16 megs (even defragged). Maybe there's some combination of what goes where that I'm missing... I'll have to play around with it a bit more. *shrug*

The max chunck size is always 16MB. That's a system limitation.
