Hi, Recently downloaded ZdoomZ (installed ZdoomZ.prc and the zdk. file) and cannot upload a wad file onto my SD card, i get a message "incompatable palm file".. how do i get the wad. file onto my palm device? i dont have a sd card reader

When you run zdoomz once, it will register the .wad filetype for hotsync until the next reset.

You should get a card reader anyway. They're cheap and very useful

i run zdoomz, restart, hotsync and it still wont recognise

When you say "restart", do you mean "reset"? Run zdoomz, then immediately hotsync. As metaview says, the .wad association lasts until the palm is reset. So if the palm is reset after running zdoomz, then the .wad files will not hotsync.

ahhh! still doesnt work.. i mean i restart the app.. i use quicksync and it still wont recognise the file..
quicksync - as in "quick install" program for palmone

yeah, i wil have to find some time on the weekend and get a card reader.. i wish i had doom for my boring tram trips right about now..

Another way is to look out for VFSRegister or such to register the .wad extension on your own with the SD-card. Or you rename it to .mp3, hotsync and use a file explorer (FileProg) to rename it on the card back to .wad and move it to the correct folder. But this takes quite a long time too.

PilotInstall (free) from envicon works quite well for installing any file to expansion card.
