I don’t think SNES9x_TYL is releasing all memory when it closes (presses the home button). After quitting, and restarting SNES9x_TYL 2 or 3 time (and playing Super Metroid) the games are much slower. If I turn off my PSP completely and then reload the SNES9x it runs fine.

Turns out I was wrong (I think). The bug is if you have SNES9x set to run at 333Mhz, and you start a game strait from the rom list when you load SNES9x, the game runs at 222Mhz until you load the options menu. You don't have to change anything from the options menu, just press left on the stick and then X to return to the game.
Sorry if this caused any problems.

Finally, took me forever to get this account up. But anyway there is a sound issue with Chrono Trigger and ff3 I believe. Every time I would go fight that robot in the town at the very begining of CT It would make a loud type clicking noise that echoed, same thing when I went to the outside map from somewhere. Also at 333 my psp can get as hot as 36C is it still safe?

yeah, i was going to mention this sound issue, as it happens in Secret of Mana, as well.
and most processors can take temps up to 60-80c. even though this is a mobile processor, i sincerely doubt that 36c is anything to worry about.

About the sound issue. It happens on every Enix game I've tried. Actraiser,EVO,Soul Blazer,Legend of Gaia, they all made that loud noise usually when you enter a new area and the music changed.

Firt off i would LOVE to commend you guys on a freakn fast ass emulator... it's wonderful for a first release....i've been playing super metroid which to me is a benchmark for PSP SNES emus at full speed and 2 zoom and it is flawless... the usual incompatibalities and freezes for me were ff5 and ;D sanrio smash ball (hehe) for me the save times were way long...dont know if that is fixable or what...... but not my place to complain to a fantastic piece of wurk...will enjoy seeing yalls progress

I just wanted to point out a bug I found While playing chrono trigger, At some points if your on the maps outside of towns and you press select to go to the world map the game will either freeze upon opening the map or closing it about 80% of the time for me when I run it under any of the psp accelerated modes. Besides that haven't found any bugs others haven't already talked about, keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing the next release!

tweak420: Yup, that's where that Mosaic comes into affect. From what I read on the readme, it should be fixed on the next release . Thunder, Yoyo, and Laxer have made my PsP much funner than ever. Awesome work on the first release, can't wait to see what the future holds.

time is now okay! check the release! >333Mhz clockspeed would be overclocking and I don't know if it's safe for PSP. actually 333Mhz isn't real overclocking, since the processor is designed for it.

Noticed a new bug in a game called E.V.O... If transparency is not turned off, there is a weird overlay of color. Works fine if transparency is turned off, though, so maybe this isn't considered a bug. Anyway, great job on .2! Excellent quality!

I tried installing 0.2 the same way as 0.1, just copying the 1.5 subfolders into my PSP/GAME directory. But it doesn't load and gives me the message "The game could not be started. (80020130). I noticed this time the folders are named "s9xTYL 1" and "s9xTYL~1%", and I wonder if this is causing it to not load? I'm not sure what to do.

I figured out how to get it going. I removed the spaces and the 1 in the first directory, and the ~1 from the second directory, and now it loads no problem.

I note that the new 0.2 does not fix the cpu clock bug where it isn't set correctly until first entering the menu with the analog stick. Not that it's really a bug, but it seems like a trivial fix.
I've also noticed that Crono Trigger seems to run slower with the same basic settings. Specifically, the battles have become choppier than they were in the 0.1 release.

With 0.2, after I ran a race in Mario Kart the emulator started skipping nearly every frame even though the frameskip was zero. I tried a few other games and tried changing some settings but this still happened, so I restarted the emulator and now it runs fine.

in 0.2 at clock: 333MHz sound: off framebufer 1:1 frameskip: 0 speed limit: off vsync: on
under the one rom i've tested it (Gods by Bitmap Brothers) the vsync:on _does_ produce occasional blinking of (portions of) the screen, plus the reported framerate occasionally goes above 60fps. basically the setup behaves as if the speed limit is set but vsync is off.

the framerate can go beyond 60fps if speed limit is off and if the game is really fast to emulate... try with both speed limit & vsync on.

In Super Metroid, if the character gets hurt, she will flash for a while.
But in 0.2, the character just disappeared instead of flashed for a period of time.
I think it could be related with an odd nubmer of frameskip.
Is that possible to fix?

i just set the speedlimit - same behavior - fps goes as high as 61 and screen blinks now and then; that's exactly what i used to get under 0.1 with vsync off and speedlimit on, and now i get it under 0.2 with vsync 'on' regardless of speedlimit. correct me if i'm wrong, but the vsync should never allow framerate higher than the refresh, regardless how fast the emulation is. i assume the psp native refresh is 60Hz, right?

Jeffchen: it is part of the framerate. The more sprites (enemies, objects etc) within a screen, the more Frameskip will kick in. I don't know if there's a solution to this.

psphreak: the fps on my PSP is decent What I was talking about is some sprite missing while they should be flashing. I think I also experienced this when using UO_Snes9x. If I adjust the frameskip to an even number, the problem will be solved, but if it's an odd number, the problem is there. Hope this will give the devs some clues for fixing something. Great job, guys!

Great emulator, but I'm having some problems with the new version that I never had with an older one. First off, the video rendering & speed is great, but the sound isn't playing properly in certain parts. Specfically in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, when you hit the boomerang against an object (or charge up the sword and do the same).
It should make sort of a "swishing"-like sound (and did with the older version), but instead it comes out as more of a high pitched beep. I've tried changing every setting but it doesn't help at all.
For now I'm happy with the old version and plan to stick with it since it plays sound in that game properly. I'm sure things will be worked out eventually. It's an awesome emulator and definitily my favorite part of my PSP. I'll be looking forward to future releases, keep up the great work!

There's some weird stuff going on with highres fonts. In Secret of Mana They all seem to be shifted over by one pixel so their edge is out of the visible "window" where the letter is supposed to be and they look really bad because they are cut off.
In Seiken Densetsu 3 the letters are fully visible, but they look smashed together, as if two rows of pixels were taken out of the middle.
I also have that weird shadow over the level in EVO which goes away once transparancies are turned off. IIRC transparancies are only used on the world map so it might not be a huge issue if it's hard to fix.
