Hi everybody.
As I wrote in the beta test thread. The ME is doing some issues...
The network stuff is quite great tough (it is really cool to play Sf2 with two PSP !!!) But it suffer some stability issue.
The good point is that yoyo debugged enough the network stuff so that the consoles do not loose synchronization too much.
Some of the rendering of the blending are going weird with quite somes games. I dont know why for the moment and need to talk with yoyo about it.
Basically, it seems that if the ME is just here to process stuff but be quite independant, the program seems to work OK. But when there is too much interaction between the two process on each cpu, it seems to go weird.
The thing is that the way the code is done IS correct. I really believe so... That network stuff is also TOO COOL to be lost. So I think we are motivated enough to get it work.
It is just that we planned to release this week end actually... But it is far too much unstable to have a lot of people after complain that the level of the emu went far down.
So please wait again for a while (=some weeks) until yoyo and I find enough time to resolve most of the issues and then release a "usable" version of TYL 0.4

I have talked to yoyo and he said he spent time to fix some bugs again and it seems to work better now.
There is some other issue that need a fix anyway before doing the beta release. Anyway, it is the proof that we can not rush to deliver things.
Yoyo is taking also a break of 1 week of vacation, and in my case I am quite busy at work (even today) and wont really be available for dev until April 7th.

The new gui is nice. Very nice. Trust me. I think it is the best gui I've ever seen for an emulator, just because of how flexible and customizable it is. The real issue with TYL now is tweaking things for proper speeds, which obviously is important. Speed is what makes the world go round according to you board members, and if you want speed, then I'm afraid you will have to wait for the devs to get more free time. The best investment is to send some cash to the devs via paypal. According to laxer, the best investment is their stomaches, so keep our devs fed and happy.

Lol Corona. I agree with you about the GUI. Watching it is a work of art. I don't think I've seen any other app use the stuff in this. I havent noticed too much difference with the games I've tried with the .03 release and this one. Granted I've only tested what I have on .03. I'm going to start testing more games in the coming days. I have work commitments as well, but I have a lot of time off starting Friday.
As far as donations go, I think they deserve it. I've already donated, and I have a financial hardship currently burdening my family right now. Even if it is only a few dollars, I'm sure it'll help them.
Anyways. The .04 version is nice, period. Are there problems, yep, but they'll hopefully be ironed out for you guys.

I don't think the urge to stuff food into ones mouth is exclusive to any one race of people. I myself (Canadian) am known to ram several donuts and meat products into my gullet on a daily basis, and I happen to know many others do too. (For Gods sake, just look at the US. Half of you are either morbidly obese, or some kind of drug dealer!!)

i havent travelled very far, but i've tasted what the world had to offer(my bros. a cook ) so when we talk food i have to say the French are the best i'm french canadian, and we kept some tradition the french had in the old country(architecture and food) now tell me that a canard confit au pomme de terre(duck and pottato) ain't better then a slab of meat US has prehaps the worst food ever, htey have mostly "all you can eat" restaurants and chain restaurants now again this is just a metter of opinion, but if i ever travel to europe i'll be sure to taste what France and Italie has to offer, while i could forget UK edit: you're making me hungry! now i'm gonna make my self a meal thats typicly "Québécois" and that is "THE POUTINE!"

trowax13 > Answered a long time ago. These are expensive software filters. Normal and Bilinear are supported by the hardware, thus beeing fast.
amigamul8r > Replied... And you will notice we did our max already.

Hey all, Corona here. Just got back from a gruelling 3 days of work and am now available for you people to pester and annoy. But seriously now, I have finished my betatesting results on TYL build 0.4me, and the news is........ Well, to be honest, after testing every single rom (NTSC and PAL versions too), I have found that the next TYL has much work needed and won't likely be released for another 2 or three weeks minimum. The good news is that this is a step in the right direction. Now that we have a better idea of the full extent of the usefullness of ME, we know how much we can abuse it for speed increases and whatever else. As things stand now, the new implementations are a welcome advancement. Cheat support is flawless, and the spc player is a fun addition. The biggest upgrade so far (in my opinion) is the wonderful new gui. Its beyond just eye candy, its aweosome!! Anywho, that is my "official" report. If you feel like complaining about it, then go yell into your pillow or something....

With the use of the media engine in addition to the PSP's main processors, wouldn't this decrease the battery life significantly?

Most likely yes... So you would prefer a slower emu and longer battery life ?

Ehi guys if you don't want to use ME for sound emulation you can use the user mode version P.S. for the developers: have you also fixed the sleep mode bug in the 0.4?

Currently, there is no version 0.4 that doens't use the ME, so those of you using 2.x had better start worrying. I'm sure that a version will be released with 2.x support soon, just not as soon as most would like. (By that I mean that, like everyone else on Earth, the preferred time for a release is NOW)

siso > Nope. This library actually rely on the hardware graphic of the PSP. We already use DIRECTLY the PSP graphic hardware in a more efficient fashion to suit the need of the Snes emulation. Thanks for your concern but dont underestimate our power (especially yoyo's one)

With the new version of eLoader just released for 2.0-2.6, are there any plans to retest v0.4 of SNES9xTYL? According to Fanjita.org, there's a lot better compatibility compared to the old version, and I thought it might mean that TYL 0.4b would work a bit better than before?
Then again, I'm just a n00b.
