So please don't flame me for asking this..


But what are the differences between the CPU, GPU, and Kernel?


and why do some emulators talk about some but not others?


like this one makes a big deal about the Kernel,

Hue and Nester use the GPU for something or other,

Dgen makes no mention of any of them anywhere ever

Well, AFAIK it is:

CPU= Central Processing Unit.- It is "the brain" of your computer, it controls the functions of the other parts of it. The program instructions are executed here

GPU=Graphic Processing Unit.- Well, the name is self-explaining, it's like a CPU, but only for processing graphics

and finally: Kernel: It's the main part of the Operating system. It manages which software access which hardware and when (well, a computer has limited resources )

That's basically what it is (I think )
