1.5 forever.
Of course a lot of homebrew can now be run on 2.00+ PSP's and that is great for people who don't have the option to downgrade. But 1.50 is the ultimate firmware for the current iteration of the PSP. And with a 2GB or 4GB memory stick, there is almost limitless potential.
Now I'm going back to playing Monster Hunter Freedom on my 1.50 - ;-)

The main problem with 2.0+ is the non-access to the kernal. That in my opinion severly limits the potential of homebrew and how fast it can run.
I myself am using 1.5, and have no plans in the near future to upgrade. Homebrew has givin me all the options that the current Firmwires have given plus more!

when sony comes out with a ps1 emulator, would it be possible to make a ps1 iso that has an snes emulator on it? similar to the ps2 snes emulator snestation.

Yeah, any SONY PS1 Emulator won't be an Emulator in the sense that we have come to know. The games will also not be ROMS's or ISO's. The capability will likely be built into the firmware and EBOOT. The games will probably be EBOOT's loaded off the memory stick in GAME folder. Same thing as what we already do with our homebrew except we will be loading PS1 games.
Very cool but not enough to get me to upgrade my 1.50

Well for one thing SNES9xTYL runs much faster (ME version). Also you can launch your PSP games from the memory stick, which greatly reduces load times, and can run them at 333 MHz to improve the framerate. Plus there are tons of additional homebrew apps which cannot be used with 2.0+.

I agree with manias on his point of view... because, people with 2.0+ dont really have a choice do they ?
But I still believe this poll is interesting to show how many people are using 1.5/1.0 vs 2.x :-) But the "VS" is a bit agressive to me...
My PC vs Macintosh My ST vs Amiga Super Nintendo vs Megadrive Windows vs Linux etc... etc...
History is full of war of "useless religion" If people would be looking at things in a less biased way, more positive discussion would emerge.

I was just curious who had what and I thought maybe this could give laxer and yoyo an idea as to who is using what

i bet that someone will come out with a prorgram that converts iso's or roms to eboots that will be playable on the ps1 emulator. the thought of paying for games that are you already own just doesn't seem right. piracy by sony if you ask me.

when sony comes out with a ps1 emulator, would it be possible to make a ps1 iso that has an snes emulator on it? . Because if a 333MHz CPU and a 166MHz coprocessor can't handle it, surely an almost idential 33MHz CPU can. What?

I have 2.0 - I havn't noticed any problems w/ it so i see no reason for downgrading. speaking of which, how would 1.5 be better? Well, 1.50 can do everything 2.00 can now and MUCH more. If you want to surf the web you have the Links2 Web browswer (Standalone or built into PSPRadio), if you want to watch AVC videos, MPH Firmware Launcher 1.4.0 will load up Firmware 2.00 just fine and you can watch AVC video files and take advantage of other 2.00 features. And as far as commercial games, you can now play far more games with 1.50 firmware than you can with 2.00 firmware. Sure, not EVERY game can be played on 1.50 yet.... But the most consistent thing with PSP homebrew is that time has always proven victorious and eventually, there will be a way. So again, I can't praise 1.50 enough.

As much as I love emulation of my old favourites on my PSP, if there's something out that catches my eye for the system itself, I'll be getting it.
Case in point, picked me up EXIT today, quite a fun game (albeit a bit slow paced), couldn't get it to work via any means I tried using little hacks/tricks (always locked up when the game actually started its loading screen), decided, screw it, updated from 2.0 to 2.5, and now happily enjoying my game.
Was just lucky that the GTA exploit was there, so I could actually still continue playing home-brew, albeit it still aint in a kernal mode. (althought it now does take an extra minute to get to the d**ned eLoader menu, but hey, sleep-mode/home-button work though)
Besides, with all the new features the future firmwares pose to add to the system, odds are new exploits will become available, incase I ever do lose access to homebrew for something delicious looking. (like the new MGS3-2 game)

I am pretty apprehensive of mod chips. Sony figured out how to block all the other stuff, there may be something they do to ruin it also. We shall see. This will be an interesting addition to the homebrew world.

It is a small price to pay for having 1 AWSOME!!!!! system (emulator PSP) and one Good System (standard PSP). Really though, emulation is the reason I play PSP anymore, I don't bother with most the games now a days. That is until the PS1 DL's start. Then I will be on that like stink on $|-||+.
