Well, I guess I can still live . edit: With the PS3 rumored to support homebrew (and even if it doesn't someone will find hacks) do any of you programmers plan on coding emu's on the PS3?

"support will fall to the lowest level required" doesn't say homebrew do what you wish

no but it does state "we'd like to see various individuals participate in content creation for the PS3". And then the article discusses the implications of the PS2 Linux kit. Do I see this as a reality? NO! Sony does not like homebrew. The PSP is proof of that. If you can homebrew then the support for official games goes down. I wouldn'thave bought official titles on release if I knew homebrew like this was available. There are a lot of people who think like me also. only a handful of titles have made it into my library.

Regardless of what they want and what's supported, someone will find a way of getting homebrew on it. We know that from the exploits that have been found on the psp.

I agree, but then they will prolly update it in the same fashion. It will be interesting to watch either way. Besides, I emulate on my PSP and my Computer. My comp is a gaming rig so it handles nearly everything. Why would I use my PS3 for homebrew when most homebrew is emulation of simple games I could play on my Comp. Now if they allowed full tilt 3rd party development, then that is a whole different ball park.

Well I am thinking that my PS3 could mostly replace my computer so I want it to do everything possible.

DGen isn't that great, many roms don't load and the ones that do require frameskipping of 1 or 2 to run at full speed. I had hoped we would see a Genesis emulator up to the same level as SNESTYL by now, especially given that the Genesis hardware isn't nearly as sophisticated as SNES.
