When I'm playing a game, the game will sometimes enter the emulator menu for absolutely no reason. Other times the frameskip will increase or decrease for absolutely no reason. I was able to tolerate this bug earlier but now its happening every few seconds and its getting really d**n annoying. Are there any fixes for this? I'm using version 0.42 ME.
Also, is there any way to disable the low battery alert? It keeps popping up even though the charge level is listed at around 80%. If I keep playing then the emulator will eventually shut off, but I can turn my PSP right back on and the charge level will still be at 70-80%. Could this be a problem with my battery?

you're probably pressing l+r together, which opens up the menu
reconfigure the controls like this:
analog left: open menu analog right: turbo analog up: frameskip + analog down: frameskip -

No, it happens at completely random times. Sometimes when I'm not even pressing anything.

I dunno dude, to be honest this doesn't sound like an emulator problem, does this not happen outside of snes9xtyl? Oh and it might help others more knowledgeable than I to know what psp firmware you're using...

Well I said I was using the ME version, so obviously I'm on 1.50. I've been having a few problems with other emulators recently, like with NESterJ sometimes the d-pad input doesn't register correctly, but I was just playing the new CPS2 emulator and I didn't have any problems so I don't know what the deal is.

Something's probably wrong with your input hardware then.

If the problem was caused by the hardware then that would mean the analog stick is sometimes registering left (when it brings up the menu) or up/down (when it changes the frameskipping), but I've played many games using the analog stick recently and haven't had any problem with faulty input there. I think I'll try reinstalling the emulator and see if that fixes anything.

i had bought 3 psps that had faulty analog sticks....i returned them all. in all 3 of them, the stick registered down/left, not alot, but enough to turn a car in a driving game.

sometime sthe analog stick isn't very accurate with detecting it's zero-stance so to speak.. put the menu on something else than the analog stick

When you turn on the PSP from full off (not sleep mode) make sure that you aren't touching the analog stick. The "center" of the analog stick (like all sticks) re-centers every time you turn it on. So if it's not in the right position, the center will be off.
