i hear about all these features and have no idea how to use them. i tried pressing left on the analog stick during the game and it acts just like a dpad. so i cant do anything right now, i even have to take out the battery just to get out of the emulator! if someone would just tell me the HOW to use the features i would greatly apreciate it.

Yeah you press L+R to get to the menu.
And DO NOT PM me with general questions, I'm not even a developer of this emulator and don't have time to answer every little question people might have. After all that's what this forum is for.
Sorry for the hard words.

nvm i figured it out, but any tips on making games run faster would help. i feel like an idiot What i would recommend is to use these settings: CPU Speed: 333 Frame Skip: 1 Rendering*: PSP Accelerated *I don't remember the name Other than that, you could change other things like Smoothing to disabled, and some other gfx settings but then it looks like crap. Yoshi's Island uses the special gfx chip, super chip.. w/e it's called, and that is the reason it runs so d**n slow. I just started playing and and in some spots (most) it's pretty slow. Good Luck.

actually PSP accelerated/ ACCURATE is quite important for a lot of games not just accelerated

actually PSP accelerated/ ACCURATE is quite important for a lot of games not just accelerated If the game works with just PSP Accelerated then USE it, and Yoshi's Story DOES work with it, no need to use unnecessary software emulation when it's not needed, besides I have found that for all the games I play I can get away with plain Accelerated with the exception of Zelda, which I then use Accelerated + Approximate because approx eliminates the gfx glitches and is faster than accurate. edit: I should also not that i do not play A LOT of games on it, I play Super Mario RPG, Zelda, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, All Stars, Adventure Island 1 + 2, and some other one which I can't remember and it's not important enough to boot the psp and check Anyways, to make my point, just experiment with it, don't use software emulation if you don't have to.

Hum.. tried Yoshi's Island with just PSP Accel - still slow as hell (~21 fps) Tried with PSP Accel + accur soft - exactly same speed (~21 fps)
*however* with just PSP accel some graphics are missing (such as the entire island at the beginning when you're picking which save file to use)

Perhaps I changed it to pure hardware after the save select :S

I'm new to this and I have tried to get it to work for my psp with no luck I got the eloader 099 and I have the s9xTL 0.4.2 and 0.3 but neither work. I think it is the loader but not sure I have 2.6 and the eloader should work but all it does is reload the game from were I was. Please help.
Lost & confused

firelight eloader is obsolete, investigate proper use of psp hacks, go to qj.net forums
