I want to get a PSP to put a snes and nes emulator on. My friend will sell me his for $80 but it has 3.72 firmware I think on it I think. Is there a way to downgrade or use the emulator on 3.72 without Pandora Battery? What firmware comes with a new PSP? And are al lthe new ones just slim or can you still get Fat ones?
Also how well does it emulator work? Does it play all snes roms without needing to tweak any thing?

Almost all games work, but those using special chips are slow, regardless of tweaking (though tweaking will make the difference between playable and unplayable)
And yeah, pandora is the only way, but it's very easy to do if you know someone that can run homebrew on their PSP. If you don't, there are tons of people willing to convert your battery for free as well (my brother does it). This requires sending only the battery, not the whole PSP. So if anyone asks for the whole PSP, it's very likely someone trying to steal it !

So if I buy a new PSP it will be a slim one, will the emulator work with a new one or does it already have the patch on it so I need a Pandora battery? Also is this www.amazon.com/Sony-PSP-Battery-Pak-SONY/dp/B0007V46I4the battery I need to turn it into a pandora battery? Because I heard there are new ones that you can't do that with. If so I would be willing to buy one send it to someone to turn into a pandora for me.

*ANY* new PSP, slim or not, will have official firmware and will therefore require a downgrade + firmware replacement.
However, a slim, even with the firmware replacement, will not be able to run the official release of this emulator - you have 2 choices: time machine or running a build that was ported for the slim
Either way you're stuck downgrading, and since the new ones come with the latest firmwares, your only option is a pandora battery. The battery should be able to be converted. Note that it will not fit properly into the slim, but it fits enough to do the job. I was also able to convert my slim battery (many people say it's impossible) into one using my PSP fat.

The only thing I want me PSP to do is play games I buy for it and SNES games. I just talked to my friend and he has a PSP Fat, he got it 2 months after it came out, but he upgraded the firmware like 3 months ago. So I am going to buy a battery and send it to someone that will do it for free for me so I can get my SNES games on my PSP. You said your brother can do it? IS there any other thing I need other then a Battery?

You also need a memory stick (that kinda goes without saying) For the downgrade/upgrade a small 32 MB thing will do the trick Sending you info on everything via personal message
