Only reason I didn't add the screenshots yet is because LJP doesn't have a screenshot taking feature and I don't know any screenshot taking software that works with it...

VERY impressive web-site. I've been looking forward to it's launch as soon as I saw the ToDo item. From the look of things you don't need any help, but if there is any web-based stuff I can help with just let me know.
Just need to take the note off the front saying that screenshots are not yet available.
Would it be possible to put the main ToDo list on the site?

The new website looks really nice. I like the layout and how easy it is to download the previous versions if you need them.

Thanks for all the comments, I'll see if I can put the todo-list somewhere The interesting part is that the website is also very functional and flexible; for example, the news area is actually a blog and so I can edit/post anywhere, and for example yoyo can post news too without having to access the server.

Perhaps some links to your other emulators and maybe a link or 2 to legal free roms for newbies to try ljp out.

OK so the site looks great...only one problem. Where is John? Perhaps you should ask if any of us freeloaders are good artists. A nice portrait of Little John Palm 16bit style would be cool. LJP made up of hand drawn sprites made to be similiar to Mario and Sonic. While you are at it: The documentation needs a lot of work. Why don't you see if somebody who is familiar with writing faqs would be willing to donate some time. Last but not least(Last because it is 6:20 in the morning and I have clean my room before the cleaning lady comes at 8). Each device has its own quirks, perhaps adding a subdivision in the forum for each specific device might help. First post is the faq followed by user feedback. Problems w/installation, bugs, crashes, best version that currently work with the device, needed apps or files to run on the device such as umdh or pxa. I know this can be accomplished by a search but I think having specific sections of this forum would give you better feedback and ease of use for the newbie. Not only that but we are your testers, we should have specific areas to post our test results. If you dont think that is important consider this. I have used LJP enough that I know all the quirks to get it to run on my 650. I read these forums on a daily basis. I looked at Zdoomz and not only cant get it to work on my 650 but after doing a search I still get conflicting results of if it works!

Anyone is free to start a topic like "Treo 650 weirdness: read here to get started" or "Specific devices tips" or something, I'd be happy to pin it I've updated the readme file with more stuff too and put links to this forum in it.

It's a nice page.
It would be nicer if there were a newer version of LJP available for download.

One question Tinnus: How you have taken the screenshots? Thx, oh, of course, you have done a good work with the webpage.

great website... can i have a request?
in the download section, post the date of each binary or source? i feel that this is important because if you post some update on the main page, we know which file is the newest... like for example, you added the fps increase in SNES, i won't know which file to download... unless you are just planning to tell us before hand and not planning to release it so soon...

I guess I shouldn't have deleted my post after all. I didn't think someone would respond to it so quickly. The beltbar is a bar at the bottom of the screen that will display some stuff and give you buttons to do things like the quick save/load more quickly. Also, after searching the forum I think I am incorrect about Tinnus using the beltbar (pushing a button on it) to take the screen shots. That's why I deleted my earlier post. I could have sworn I read something about it though.

Of course, they are just development news, I don't do a release per day hehe. I'll say whenever a release is made. But I guess I'll post a date for the latest unstable/stable versions in the download page. See the white bar at the bottom of the screen (in-game shots) in the screenshots area. Also, after searching the forum I think I am incorrect about Tinnus using the beltbar (pushing a button on it) to take the screen shots. That's why I deleted my earlier post. I could have sworn I read something about it though. Well, I never posted about it, although I THOUGHT about doing that. Now that's really weird ;D

Oops, I think there's an RSS indeed (it's from Blogger). I'll take a look.
hteasthope: sorry, I did plan to release it this past week, but yoyo got on and did some stuff, I'm finishing it and on monday we'll see what goes and what doesn't for RC1... so, 95% chance next week...

tinnus,
for RC1, will i still need UMDH? i am asking particularly on snes hope to see the release soon... *cross fingers*...

Post by Tinnus on Aug 13, 2005 23:05:38 GMT 1
Yeah, still needing UDMH. That's a though one and very hard to solve, but I have something in mind that could help (maybe not much for SNES because it's very memory-hungry) provided it works.
