is it possible (i don't expect it) to ever have a version of LJP that doesn't require UDMH for SNES and Genesis games?

I don't think so, that's because the palm OS has too little heap memory (read work memory) to load and run these games. UDMH is workaround for that problem but isn't of course a real problem solver.

pavla is true. (as all i've read around here) the only way is to include a feature like udmh inside ljp. but udmh is realy cheap, its developer (dmitry) is fair enouth. So I don't think that ljp will include this kind of feature any soon. Tinnus is working on ljr so he may not have much time to work on it anyway.

I have a question guys, mainly for Tinnus, but open for other answers too. What does the Virtualy Memory Manager (VMM) found at palmgear do? Seems to me that it does the same thing as UDMH, except you implement it into your program. Of course, I am no devleloper, or a genius either, so I don't know.

Maybe, but take a look at this: "Last Updated: April 9, 2000" It will most oikely not work very well with OS5 apps. ESPECIALLY LJP. It probably uses the MemSemaphore functions... which can't be used here since they disable sound. On the other hand... LJR will (try to) have this support built-in.

Just trying to help out. Like I said, I am NOT a developer and whatever that post you just made said, I understand it won't work.

When you said, "On the other hand... LJR will (try to) have this support built-in" did you mean UDMH or the VMM thingy?

I think he meant you won't need either of those apps

Yeah and what difference does it make? LJR will use storage memory as dynamic and that's it

As a programmer too, i'm a bit affraid about you present it as the messiah. We all know you'r good, but i know nothing works so perfectly as intended and you will get terrible headache few before the release to fix all the unexpected things (the murphy's fate). To this i add the fact the more you tell us about it and its features, the more pressure you'll get from board(s) members to know/see/test/touch it. Good luck

Well it can't be helped. If it weren't for the people using LJP, I wouldn't be working on it
