Hello,
I was running LJP RC2 on my zire 71, using genesis, gb and gg roms, ti worked great excepted some settings which are not stored correctly and sometimes some crashes during games.
I tried to update to RC7 and I'm having a really strange problem : when I try to launch a rom, whatever platform, I get this error message forcing me to reset : "MemoryMgr.c, line:3725, Nil Ptr". I tried to disable UDMH, to install LJP on a clean conf (after hard reset), nothing helped.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks a lot for your work, that emulators are awesome !
bye,
Lionel

You're not doing anything wrong... RC7 modules just require more memory than RC2. You most likely don't have enough with your current Z71 configuration. Check the memory report at the top of the launcher screen to see if you've got enough.

OK ! the z71 has a tiny 16MB memory indeed. The report says : RAM: 860/860 KB DB: 11572/11571 KB without UDMH and RAM: 9999/9999 KB DB: 11572/11571 KB with UDMH set to report 10000 KB for LJP + cleaning option.

If you only have 860kb RAM without UDMH, you're probably going to have problems. Check the RC7 thread for more discussion (there's some talk about RC2 in it as well as RC7).

What he has with UDMH though, should be more than enough for anything but SNES.

Thanks for your answers !
I took a look at RC7 thread, it's true that there's a lot of information about memory, I learnt many things. Nobody seems to have this fatal error though... I wonder if it is caused by LJP new version or something wrong with the OS: I searched the web and some people who had this error had their ROM corrupted. As far as I remember, I didn't get this memorymgr.c message with another app. With LJP RC7 it pops up just after I press "launch", before the name of the rom is shown.
Has anyone tried LJP RC3 or RC7 with a Zire 71 ?
Anyway, it doesn't really matter, RC2 works OK with UDMH on my zire, even with SNES roms, it's more than I could ask for !
Bye !
Lionel

Try the "unstable" version, It worked for me with memory problems!

There was a memory bug in RC3 through RC7 "Stable" in the SNES module. It is fixed in the latest version of RC7 on metaview's site.
