I dont know if any devs are currently up for it but im just throwing this idea out just in case. When you have a youtube account you can add videos to favourites on your account. I thought of an application that would randomly choose a selectable amount of videos from your favourites and download them to your palm upon a hotsync. If anyone on this forum is willing to give this a shot i think it would greatly enhance the multimedia capabilities of pda's especially with the new kimona player 4.x EX. Haven't posted here in a while and am glad to see that some developements are still happening (LJX/R, psx4palm (hopefully ) and ***). thanks all

By the way. metaview, congratulations on your PalmPDF program and Crimson game. I actually prefer to use PalmPDF over the palm program I got with my palm, only thing is when loading, it's pretty slow(~30sec) to load a colored page. That's probably because, I have a 200mhz palm tungsten E2, but if you have any idea on how to speed it up, that would be great. Once again, congrats.

The thing is, I had lightspeed, I would select the program to overclock and tell Lightspeed/warpspeed what overclock it to, yet, I would not see any results. I tried speedy before and after overclocking and I saw no results. Once, when I tried speedy, my minimum (I think that was it) was 238 compared to the usual 123, but it froze

how odd, but yes, I agree, the standard pdf viewer is a disgrace to the palm system (I deleted it because it was frustrating , I'll have to try metaview's software)

You are asking for a really hard application.
First it has to be a web browser to get into your youtube account, be able to parse your favourites, and then somehow download the video into sd card.
I don't know how to do even the first bit...you would have to hack up an open source web browser I guess.

idk if this is undoable n sry if it is. id like someone to consider it tho and see if it can be done. i think it would be a great app. meyb someone has an alternative way of doing this idea so that the app would be as useful but easier to implement

Try using real full words when asking and explaining what you want and you'll be more likely to get help.

You'd need to convert .flv to .avi or .mpg with a correct codec. But you kinda might need to know how the fav's page code works to randomly select them. It would be a tough job.

Hi, I don't think that doing the stuff that does HTTP request and parses HTML pages of youtube is hard to do. In java, it is very simple. But, I don't know how this program will be able to send flv files to any Palm devices :-p ... Maybe this API could do the job : www.jsyncmanager.org/
