Hi there.
I've been tring to get quake to work on my TE2. I have 24mb of space left on my card where the launcher and other files are stored and 18mb of space on the internal RAM.
I can run ZDoom fine. When I run ZQuake I get a crash when I launch the pak. It first asks me to check disk spce and then that there is only:
%4.1f megs of memory available and it cant execute the game.
I tryed running it after a soft reset because after the error I had to reset it anyway.
I don't have UDMH. Do I have to buy it? I really can't be bothered but if it's the only solution I will.
All replys and help appreciated.
AJ

You need UDMH. The current devices just doesn't have enough dynamic memory to play Quake. Doom, Hexen and Heretic were all optimized to run on current devices without any memory hack, but Quake and Duke3D are just too demanding... UDMH is your only help.

How did you get Zdoom to run on your Tungsten E2. Because I can't unless I get a UMHD but I have been reading that a UMHD will crash an E2. So I was wondering how you got doom to run on your E2. I would like to know thak you very much for helping. But congrats with the success of running doom on your E2. Also be careful when shopping for an UMHD becasue a lot of them will crash your E2 forever!!.

I already said thet UDMH version 5.3 and beyond WILL NOT DESTROY YOUR DEVICE.
(and it's UDMH, not UMHD)
