Color PalmOS apps don't have to have that 2 pixel wide white border. I've no idea why it's even there on most apps. Perhaps it's so black text doesn't get run right up against the edge?
There are some that don't, I think Village SIM is one, haven't run it in a while.
4 more pixels in both directions is quite a bit of space on a 320x320 screen.

So why post this? Yeah, there's a border on some apps. (not including the white border around the entire screen) I only can think of one app that has this feature, it's Metronome. Maybe it's the compiler that does this for some reason. I really have no clue why. LJP doesn't have it. None of my apps have it, except for metronome, and actually it's annoying, but I live.

Oh boy. . . Palm os Hires screens are not 320x320, but 324x324. This was hard coded do to the structure of the screen on the "green screen" models that originally made the text have a border to make the text look nice. Honestly, I absolutely hate it on my treo and zodiac, but I can remove it on my zire.
More info is found by googling: Palm os white border

Also, the white border is useful to see if the device is actually turned on but with a black screen, on devices with no LED. There are a number of apps out there (check 1src) that let you change it to a black border for any apps you choose.

I wish it worked with treo. An e2, I don't know, Blackborder says it may "work on other devices", so I'd say give it a try.

All right, this is slowly starting to drive me insane, I really want to fix this. Does anyone know how the OS does this (specifically the Treo)? Does it simply draw a rectangle around the screen. (So maybe I could patch it to use 0 instead of 255 for the color, or just draw a new rectangle over it) I know TCPMP can barely have an effect on this for the treo 650, and it partially takes off a line from my zire 72. Really though, Touch Launcher looks a lot more like an iPhone without a blaring white border around the screen.
