There is currently a project under way (very successfully) for the Pocket PC. It is a russian site as follows: "http://n0p.averest-k.ru/".
This uses an engine called Stratagus which when used with some of the files from the game will emulate Warcraft 2.
I'm not sure if this means the source is available or if you could get the source from these people. There emulator is freeware so hopefully they wouldn't be too unhelpful.
Warcraft 2 would look fantastic on a Zodiac screen.

I use wargus, wich is a warcraft 2 port for pocket pc based on stratagus. It works pretty well and fast, even when a large number of npc fighting on the map. There is tons of good projects on pocket pc, our palm are still "late" on these projects... (psone emul, age of empire, warcraft 2, worms, everquest, flashback, gameboy advance emulator, transport tycoon...) but well... palm users are patient people and we'll wait because we know our device can do all this things

Just a quick note on your list. Flashback and Transport Tycoon are currently emulated on the Zodiac. There is a link on "www.zodiacgamer.com".

Yes but zodiac no longer producted, and outside US (in france especially) zodiac was a pain to obtain so if we count "worldwide", palm (from palm & sony) are more representative of the "palm user"... I only regret zodiac wasn't available everywhere with a decent price

It is a shame the Zodiac wasn't available everywhere. I think it's one of the most fun hand helds I've ever had.
The point I was trying to make with my previous post was that since they had been converted to the Zodiac, that means the code is based on the Palm operating system. I know there will be some Zodiac specific code in there as well, but it at leasts shows it is possible for games like this to be on the Palm.
