I somehow warm resetted my palm to where my programs such as warp speed and umdh need to be re-registered! Anything I can do before I make it worse?
Thanks!

Are you using a device with Non-Volatile File System (NVFS)? Devices such as the Treo 650, LifeDrive, Tungsten E2, Tungsten T5, Tungsten X and Zire Z22 may suffer from a bug in the Operating System that may cause a loss of the Preference settings after a reset. There are programs that can restore these settings automatically after a reset such as Pref Doctor. Or you could just manually restore the preference files from your previous backup.

Thanks-- I do have a lifedrive. What's the best way to manually restore? Over a year later and I'm STILL not a savvy palm user

Well, if you haven't been doing backups I hope at least you've been HotSyncing regularly? On the computer you've been HotSyncing to, navigate to the folder where the palm desktop is located. Sorry I can't remember the name, as mine has been moved and renamed. Then go into the folder with the same name as your HotSync name. If the HotSync name has a space, it may be labeled as LastnameFirstInitial. Then into the Backup folder, looking for the two files named Saved Preferences and Unsaved Preferences. Then just HotSync these two files back to your palm! Next step would be to get a good on-the-palm backup program. I've heard some people recommend a free one, NVBackup. And there are many others that will do a good job.

Hey, glad to help.
I think many of the people who hang out on these boards will agree with this:
We're here not only to get our own questions answered, but if any of us can answer a question we will know we helped not only the person who asked, but we also take a load off of the developers. Every question they don't have to answer, because one of the users did, is more time for them to spend on Real Life TM, and perhaps even making progress on newer versions of our favorite programs!
Thanks once again to yoyo, Tinnus, metaview, and laxer3a for giving us some of the best reasons to have a Palm or PSP.
