It's come to my attention that there exists a port of Ultima Underworld for Pocket PC. I understand it's commercial and also quite buggy, but the fact that it exists is interesting. How in the world did they get their hands on the source for the port, and if they did, could we too? That's a game I'd love to have more access to, and would make a fabulous addition to the z ports we have already.

I knew there was an obscure version of Ultima Underworld for the PS1 targeted at Japan(there's a thread on TTLG with all the details), but never for WM. This is starting to get a whole lot more interesting.
What I'd really be interested in, though, is a port of the predecessor to my best impulse purchase of all time-System Shock. (It uses the same engine as the UU games, so porting one won't be too hard if the other can be ported.)

The chances are that if it is commercial, you won't be able to get the scource. With no source, its not likely that a port would be able to be made.

I guess my point is that since they made a commercial port that means the source still exists, which is better news than many old programs. We'd still probably have to do some begging to get our hands on it, which I know is a slim to none chance, but the possibility is there.
