ZDoomZ Crash on Zodiac 2

I'm trying to get ZDoomZ up and running, however, when I go to launch a game, I get the following error:

"MemoryMgr.c, Line:3745, NilPtr"

This happens with the shareware Doom WAD and the registered version Doom 2 WAD.

It also looks like the last status messge it displays before the crash is:

"ST Init Status Bar"

I get almost the exact same error on my TJ37

"MemoryMgr.c Line 3725 Nil Ptr"

I tried the shareware doom1 wad, and a standalone pwad file.
