It really wants to work. It gives it a good try, but fails.
Without UDMH, it does not get far. It crashes at the init stage.
With UDMH, it loads to the point where the screen says "starting music...please wait" and just hangs.
I have the music patches installed and this same setup is working on my TC.
When I launch LJP with UDMH on, it shows 11 megs available, so I should have enough memory.

I tried the 14mb patch and it is kinds worse. On Doom2, it resets after it shows that it is loading the audio. Doom1 just hangs. Which 650 are you using (sprint, cingular, whatever)

Treo 650 has the same PXA270 CPU as Zire 72

Ok. After screwing around with this for a while, I did get doom2 to work. I had to basically free up 12mb of space. For whatever reason, Doom will still not work. I will try removing the sound files as someone suggested.

Taking a hint from another thread, I kept the timidity config file, but removed the patches. I still get some sound and now both doom and doom2 play well.

Timidity is only for the music. If you don't bother with it, don't install the patches. You still get all of the game sound effects

Exactly, except that people do need the config file. Without it, the game will not work correctly.
