I have the doom1.wad from a doom95 cd.
Will someone please explain to me what to do, from square one. I am familiar with the mp3 trick, and I am on a mac.
Please tell me every file I need, where it has to go, all that, and in return, I can give you something good.

Just use the MP3 trick to copy the wad to /PALM/Programs/ZDoomZ.

what about all this timidity stuff?
When I run it, I get this message at the top
cannot sys_alloc 9437184 bytes.
and then a box appears in the center that says
error at tim init
and then my palm restarts

this time it says

Are you using UDMH? Seems like an out of memory error.

clash , if your palm is NOT TT3 or TC - you will have to use udmh, if you want doom to work.
