could not load instrument GS00/ (timidity error)

Hi all,

Love zdoomz, however cannot manage to get the sound working on my NX60. Followed all the instructions, tried timidity and timidity with the eawpats. Even renamed the Palm/Programs/Timidity file to "timidity" thinking it was an error with the folder name. In any case, always get an error when "loading music" that various instruments (starting with GS00 drum sounds) could not be loaded. .. any ideas?

Well, found the answer, at least to the main game sounds. . .the NX series needs this hack ->

Now have game sounds. Unfortunately, still not able to load the timidity midi instruments. Any help would be appreciated; I'm using a Memory Stick Pro 256MB for storage, and again its a NX60U Clie.

I have the tj37 and I get the same problem, cannot load instruments. Since the music is one of the best things in DOOM, this is quite a downer. Also I have to used udmh even though I (supposedly) have 9 mb of heap

I have a Treo, and I get similar "Could not load" messages. I see on the site that the modified patches are preferred, but if you use eawpats, the config file references linux directories that are not present on the Palm. Dumb question: are we supposed to edit that to reflect the Palm directory structure or edit the one with the standard pack? Regardless, does anyone have a sample that worked? We need to have a FAQ for all this stuff, heh. I tried installing timidity both before and after copying eaw, and get different errors each time. Bleh.
