Ok, so I decided to get ZDoomZ back on my palm. I installed as normal, adn then downloaded the WAD file from here (http://www.3ddownloads.com/showfile.php3?file_id=7486). Then I installed it and played a few levels. I got bored and decided to do iddqd. w00t. Then I quit ZDoomZ but it froze when I responded to the "Are you sure you want to leave" by pressing the centre button of the 5-way navigator, assigned to fire. My Palm was frozen. I reset, seeing the palm logo, then a white screen when it's supposed to do the thing with the lines and you see Tungsten. Then it reset again and did the same thing. Again and again and again. It did this about 5 times before I reset again, same problem. I reset holding pageup (system untrap reset), nothing different. I reset then holding power, and pressed pageup to erase my data. My palm booted normally. It is a Palm Tungsten E with a 1GB SD card in it (i never got this with the 256 card, mabye it's because of the card?) (6MB free on card, 15MB free on Palm and UDMH enabled, set up to clean up after app.) I did have Lightspeed on the device but it wasn't enabled at the time, so it shouldn't have affected anything. It could have been the WAD file, now my UDMH trial appears to have expired when I restored from my backup so I can't exactly try it again...

When that happens, try resetting holding UP. If it doesn't work, only solution is hard reset.
Usually this is caused by some bad memory overwrite (memory being written to somewhere it shouldn't be).

I had the same problem with my Tunsten E2, the d**ned thing just would not 'boot' - or whatever PDAs do - I had to send it back for repairs. Pissed me off something fierce. I HATE having to deal with the Swedish postal office... Anyways, does anyone know how to avoid these problems - or what causes it? Is the problem limited to Tungstens? I was using a shareware retail version of doom, and shareware UDMH.

If Hard-reset doesn't work, you could just try to either disconnect the batterie (breaks any waranty) or to wait until the batterie is really empty (which does harm the batterie, oth)

The device was just about a week old, so I didn´t feel like breaking the warranty. And I tried several times to let it drain, but I suppose that the non-volatile memory makes sure that nothing happens. The thing is that I don´t was this crap to happen again, but I really want to play Doom on my Tungsten. I´m not sure if I dare to try again.

Hello,
I have the same problem on my tungsten e2, device hangs at the "palm powered"logo. Even a hard reset doesn't come through.
Does anyone have a solution without sending the device back to palm? or can anyone confirm that disconnecting the battery solves the problem?

If an NVFS device is drained, the RAM cache and heap storage is cleared, but the flash portion that is used for program storage stays.

Since we´re on the subject, does anyone have an idea of how likely it is that this problem (reset loop) will happen with zHexen and a Tungsten E2 with UDMH? Is there any major difference between zDoomz and zHexen (except for the wads of course)? There must be someone who has an idea of how to prevent this from happening ´cause Doom & Hexen kicks ass, and my E2 has been in the shop for over three weeks now. I don´t want to risk it again without a good reason.
