zDoomz is fantastic. I was blown away when I first tried. But now I've discovered the use of pwads that create an entire new game from the doom wads. There's no words, I'm as giddy as a school girl.
I found a couple that worked right off including Simpsons "Nightmare in Springfield". What a riot.
It would seem now that there are no gameplaying limits to this port on the Palm.
Thank-you, thank-you.

How do this pwads work?
Like, make a list of the games that you can do it?
And this work straight from the original copy? there is no conversion?

Okay, I'm real new at this stuff. I never imagined when I bought my Zire 72 last year that the developments by Yoyo and Tinnus were even possible. Anyways, what I've found in my brief time toying pwads yesterday is this. Pwads are simply .wad files that run off the original Doom2 or Ultimate Doom engines in combination with those original .wads. In the zDoomz launcher you simply put a check mark in the 'Pwad list Active'. This opens up a 2nd window below the original window 'Iwad list'. Like I stated in my earlier post I found a Simpsons pwad that worked off the Doom2.wad. The simpsons.wad is simply copied into the same folder on the sd card as the original Doom2.wad; Palm/Programs/zDoomz/. Both the simpsons.wad and the Doom2.wad will display in both windows in the zDoomz launcher. Highlight the Doom2.wad in the upper window (Iwad list) and highlight the simpsons.wad in the lower window (Pwad list). Now tap 'Launch' and voila, Simpsons: Hell in Springfield. I hope that description is clear. There doesn't appear to be any conversion necessary. Pwads I found that worked so far are Simpsons, QakeII Doom, Doom64 all at Drumasters site @ lajulie.free.fr/ .The downloaded .zip files simply contain one .wad file that can be loaded in the same manner as described above. Also found Star Wars Doom @ www.doomwadstation.com/main/tc.html that runs perfectly off the Ultimate Doom .wad. Fragport.wad at the same site worked off my Doom2.wad. It appears that all are not so clear cut however. Many pwads work only with specific versions of UltDoom or Doom2. Some loaded a title screen then crashed. Some had 5 or 6 .wad files in the .zip that may need to be merged with a .wad batch Tool. Anyways even 5 or 6 new games using pwads is well worth the effort and its something that you can play around with. Now if I could just get a Wolfendoom episode to work. Check out the Wolfendoom site. It looks awesome, but I'm stumped. Good Luck and let me know if you get pwads working,

Found a few more that worked great: HACX and DOOM II EXTREME both downladed from Doom Wad Station. Both GREAT games.
ALso anyone looking for Wolfenstein. I mentioned above that the Wolfendoom conversions for Doom II looked great. Well Drumaster has 3 Wolfendoom wads on his site that he's streamlined for Doom II with zDoomz. They are the Original Wolfenstein, Seeds of Destruction and the Nocturnal Missions. All run seamlessly and appear to be true to the originals. Beautiful textured and well put together. Drumaster is not the author of these conversions, but a bit of a wad god by the looks of it. Check out his site.
