If one is using the standard patches, it seems to work ok on my Treo, but sometimes the thing just freezes when looking for one of the few patches it never finds anyway, and reports the error and hangs up. I reinstalled this time, using the eawpats patches from this website, but am curious what changes need to be made to the timidity.cfg. The one that comes with eawpats is VERY short (and appears to work for U**x), and the one that comes with timidity is VERY long...are we supposed to merge the two? Thanks in advance, and I won't bug you guys any more after this for a while I have not changed or moved a thing in either the /Palm/Programs/timidity/patches or the /Palm/programs/timidity/eawpats folders. eawpats timidty.cfg: #on my debian: /usr/local/share/timidity/timidity.cfg dir eawpats/ source gravis.cfg source gsdrums.cfg source gssfx.cfg source xgmap2.cfg #dir /home/user/patches/ #mid -> wav: timidity input.mid -Ow1S -s 44100 -o output.wav

I think I figured out part of the problem, the installer is not autoextracting timidity.zip..it just resets.
the zip is no longer there, but I get an error with the zip file. I guess it's time to redo it again, ...pfft
