I'm having some trouble with ZDoomZ. I followed the instructions and put the ZDoomZ program files where they are supposed to be. I am using palmOne Quick Install to get files on my Tungsten|E. It won't allow WAD files on my handheld, so I renamed DOOM1.wad to DOOM1.prc, put it on the handheld, then renamed it to DOOM1.wad from there. I put it in the ZDoomZ directory. When I run the program the IWAD list comes up. I select DOOM1.wad and hit Launch. Now I have a black screen with a small white oval in the middle. On the top of my screen I have a tab that says: free ram: 452/337 And now it's frozen and I can't do anything with it. I can't return home, I can't even turn the thing off. Now I just have to wait for the battery to run out before I can use it again. I remember reading some things about a thing called Timidity but that's only for music (right?) so I didn;t bother with it. If I missed something during the installation please help me. Thanks in advance. ;D (This things gonna take forever to run out of power... )

I'm having this very same problem... I've installed the files in the Palm renaming the extensions to .mp3 Then I renamed them to .zdk and .wad and moved them to the right folder by FileZ I surely have enough memory in the device and it stills not working...
But if I keep tapping the screen, moments later it appears 'W_Init: Init WAD files' on the top of the screen and 'Warning low mem' in the middle of the screen and then the system REALLY freezes...
I just don't know what to do...

Well, I still receive a message like 'cant alloc something....' but with UDMH it seems to work fine (without music)

'cant alloc something....' : don't worry, it's just that UDMH doesn't report the correct size of available memory. That's why ZDoomZ iterates to find the largest usable block for its cache.

Why does it only seem to do this with Zdoom and not the other Z games? They all work just fine for me but with doom I have to click through a whole bunch of memory error messages before it finally runs. Zheretic and Zhexen run without any such errors.

For me it happens in all 3 games.

No kidding? Well I guess I'm just lucky on the other games then. Anyone else able to run those games without the memory errors?

I have an answer. Ignore it, but keep pressing the touch screen with your stylus; my ZDoomZ does the same thing on my Tungsten E|2, but the game still loads once I press the touch screen a couple of times.
