yoyo, I'm not sure if it's just me, or other people have the problem too, but when I set the resolution to 240x160, it is no longer as smooth and fast as alpha 2. Especially when I turn, it slows to a crawl sometimes, and the analog doesn't seem to respond as well anymore either when I try to select menu or turn. Is this because of the music? Although I'm not sure if it supports it or not, but maybe it's trying to play the music files that I dont have? I'm not sure what it is or if you experience it or not though, just wanted to tell you.
I have no hacks either as far as I know...

I never tried the alphas but I would agree that ZQuakeZ is pretty choppy and slow.(It's still a great job of porting Quake and it's playable.) Maybe you should try the unlimited dynamic memory hack. *Shrugs shoulders*

version 1.0 is slower than alpha 0.02 : I forgot some debug stuff in critical function (malloc, ...). version 1.1 (coming soon) will be much smoother (and have full support for mods -rally works really well-).
