I must admit I am looking more forward to ZQuakeZ then ZDoomZ... I don't know, I guess part of it is because Quake has much more impressive graphics. I also never got that far in Quake back in the day. I didn't have that good of computer back then. I can't wait for ZDoomZ though! Speaking of ZQuakeZ's graphics, can they actually run smooth? I mean, I know this is in early development, but is it possible to have 30fps? I know with a Zodiac that's probably possible, but how about a T3? Also, what happened to all the screenshots?

The T3 can go as fast as 3 Zodiacs.

hmmm interesting... why is that? I know the processor in a Zodiac is slower, but doesn't it have a dedicated graphics chip?

The Zodiac's graphics chip is for 2D acceleration only (i think). 3D graphics are still done with software, not hardware acceleration.

Zodiac's CPU = 200MHz, overclocks to 230
T3's CPU = 400MHz, overclocks to 600 = 3 normal-clocked Zodiacs
The video chip is only used in ZQuake for image scaling.

Zodiac's CPU = 200MHz, overclocks to 230 T3's CPU = 400MHz, overclocks to 600 = 3 normal-clocked Zodiacs If my math is right, 230 x 3 = 690 and not 600. And that's assuming people want to overclock. May heat up and shorten processor's life, and the T3's battery life is already short as it is. (Can you tell I'm a Zod owner? ;D ) The video chip is only used in ZQuake for image scaling. Wouldn't this move some of the load off of the main processor? Not sure under which situations image scaling is done (portrait vs. landscape and 320x240 vs. 480x320, etc) but I would think it has to be done on each device either way. Of course, I think Zod users only get to take advantage of this if they have DAA since it's not signed... yet.

I meant 600 = 3 Zods normal-clocked.
By "image scaling" it's only used if you choose a low resolution, for full-screen scaling. Not too much of a speed gain really.
