Has anyone very lucky got a lifedrive yet? Does ZQuake or ZDoom run well on it?

I'd like to know that too, because i'm thinking of buying one myself.
Since it uses it's HD to store it's programs i doubt that UDMH is going to work on it. Is the default dynamic heap in it large enough?

It's 6MB I think, like the T5. Just imagine having 4GB of heap!

UDMH will probably have to be upgraded. Mabye if we all tell him that we would buy it if it worked on the LifeDrive...

Well even if he upgraded it, the only ram that might be usable is the 10 mb HD read cache, because using the HD as RAM can't be good for performance And using the HD cache probably isnt that good an idea either because the constant HD activity required without cache would result in a big battery drainer. So i'm afraid a UDMH-like trick might be quite hard on a LD...

If it runs on a T5 it can run in the LD. They both have the same memory structure, IIRC...
"The LifeDrive memory model is like any of the other NVFS devices that palmOne has produced -- 32MB of RAM divided into 16MB for the system "ROM" image, 6MB for the dynamic heap, and 10MB for the DB Cache that holds records from the storage heap while they are in use."

... hey... It's just like a T5 with a 4Gb "INTERNAL" instead of 215Mb "INTERNAL" Yeah... I forgot... with the pluses of WiFi...

Only thing is that if UDMH pulls swap from the HDD, it will get very slow and be very battery usage heavy...

No, I haven't been able to get it to run on my LD -- it complains about "not enough memory", and then soft-resets the device.
