I have a TX and while it looks nice to run hi res in landscape i think that the speed gains and better button positioning of runing in 320x320 (or similar) in portrait mode make it worth implimenting this if its not in already.
So how do i put zquake into portrait mode (it always runs landscape, even at the lower resolutions).
Thanks in advance

Thankyou, tried that, and its now working very well.
Your version has network support, how do i get this working, it has a message saying "no connection" (or somthing like that) in the multiplayer screen.

Are you geting 320x320 in portrait mode? Or the usual 320x240?

Portrait is 320x240, it isn't streched at all.
Network: select the network in the options, 2 player, TCP/IP for example...

Shadowcaster: When you're able to connect to the I-Net using your WiFi setup, it should just work in ZQuake. But who knows, I will test it with my freshly arrived TX in the next days.

Speaking of Multiplayer Quake...i've started a quakeserver dedicated to the Palm port of Quake. I tested the server; everything works, but it's reeeeally laggy when i'm testing it on the same comp the server's running on. For instance: I try walking forward and get a 2 second wait. Is it something to do with the old Quake netcode, which was invented before ADSL really took off? I know there's a line in the config file to change the baud...that didn't really help. It also says <Playername> Disconnected when I do something. Something to do with it trying to send via dial-up when really it's on a 2mbps ADSL connection? How can I fix it? Btw, my Quake server's IP: (may/may not be on) 82.69.42.192 port 26000. www.palmnet.co.nr - check that out, too

Wow that's really cool. is it fast enough to be playable? also here in toronto there aren't that many wifi networks so its a rare opperotunity to be able to play on the go. nice work tho.

The network code isn't the best in Quake (that was the reason for QuakeWorld to appear), but it is what we have now. You server isn't connectable right at the moment, but I will come back later and try again. Sounds great. Regards Henk

What I might also do is make a .PQA, which connects to the server list on the PalmNet site, lists the Servers in a table with their names, max. players, ping etc and connect to one when you tap on it. Could I program it to launch ZDoomZ/ZHexen/ZQuake, and force the game to connect to the server you choose?
EDIT: Oh, and my Quake server's usually up by 18:00 GMT.

Gr8 work StupidCatOfDoom. ill try to log on. by the way i cant find the multiplayer option in warfare incorporated. and also in ur website how do i connect to doom or hexen servers? Welll...I haven't set up the Doom or Hexen servers, or a Warfare Inc. one either. I'll do that when I sort out the major lag problems with the Quake server, and get my PC running 24/7. Get metaview's versions of ZDoomZ, ZHexen and ZQuake - those have multiplayer. And to connect to the servers, look at the PalmNet site's server page on your Palm - www.palmnet.co.nr/?servers (since it was designed for Palms ), pick a server and click on it. It'll give you a server info page with the server's IP, port etc. (The usual port for Quake is 26000) - copy the address. When in-game, do whatever you have to do to get the multiplayer menu, the join game screen...tap on the address box, and then tap in the middle of the screen so you can get the "Send Command" box up. Paste the address. If someone makes a PQA (I tried and failed miserably, i'm gonna go learn to program for another few years I think) that connects to the serverlist and lets you connect to servers from there, it'll make the whole thing a lot simpler. Oh, and Metaview...I can't get multiplayer Quake working on my Zire 71 is it because there's no wifi/BT built in? I had it connected to my comp using PPP. It says "No interface" or something.

Hm, "no interface", even if you have a network defined and it works with other network apps on your Zire?

Yep, says "No interface"- and the PPP connection to my comp works fine, and it works fine in other apps - but not on Quake.
