Hi! I`m using a Zire 71 with 128 Mb Sd card.I`ve tried version 1.2 and now 1.4 of zquake, but everytime when I`m tryn` to launch it says "Out of memory when loading pno","Error loading pno"."259".I have tried to use udmh and destaller lite to free up some memory, but it happened the same thing. The handheld has cca 6 Mb free. Please help solve this problem if its possible

Probably it is yet too low, try to close any memory hungry app running in background like zlauncher or similar. Or try to move apps you don't use often in the /PALM/Launcher folder of your SD. Btw, Zire71 but has very low memory, only 16MB, so you will have to move almost everything off of your internal storage
If it doesn't help you could do a hard reset of your device (do a full backup first with something like BackupBuddyVFS) then install only UDMH and ZQuake and see if it works.
Btw, I consider ZQuake not really playable on an handheld with so few buttons in fact I consider ZDoomZ much more enjoyable and above all the version 1.6 of ZDoomZ (to be released soon by MetaView) will be very light in terms of memory usage. Another problem with the Zire71 is the CPU speed: I tryed ZQuake on my Treo600 (same exact speed) and is very slow on big rooms and just slow in small rooms.
So consider going with ZDoomZ or ZHexen.

And QUake will be too slow probably. Anyway, you need more than 6MB free WITH UDMH.

What is the minimum free memory required? is 10MB enough? Me downloading the shareware of Quake now, my original CD is back hometown and my MMC card ain't big enough for the full version

10MB should be enough. Ensure also to assign 10MB to Quake using the latest UDMH.

Metaview, what do you mean?
You mean using the custom settings for individual applications?

Try freeing up some more storage memory if you've only got little more than the amount you've set in udmh. Like try starting with 12 MB free storage memory as shown in your palm's launcher if you allocate 10 MB to udmh.

Hm, what does ZDoomZ for example report as largest blocks? It sounds as the largest block is too small. Either in the storage/DBCache (does it have one) or the dynamic heap. ZQuake still uses the old way to get launched, means it takes up around 4MB in storage and 4MB in dynamic during startup.

ok, this means: your free storage ram is 8MB, max block is 10MB. I guess, when you assign 10MB for Quake you have no free storage anymore. Try it again with 4MB or free up more storage ram. the first part is to get the pnolet up and running, this takes 3 MB storage and 3 MB dynamic. Then you nee space for the game itself, this might be again around 4 MB dynamic.

Can't free up anymore M28 has only 16MB RAM, what is inside is currently system files and files which are locked. (Eg. apps that are included in the phone even after hard reset). Oh well.... sucks.. but what to do...
