When I try to run quake by hitting the launch button this comes up, "error while unzipping". Can someone tell me what's wrong with it?

And a solution to that would be? I managed to start and play zquake. It is when I start it a second time this happens.

What should I be looking for in the "SEARCH" function?
Can someone tell me, why did it work the first time it was started?

Many people come on this board to say "it doesn't work". Like you they dont even say what device they have, or some technical infos. We dont even know if you have a palm or a zodiac ?...
Metaview is one of the coder and gave you the answer with the few information you have : not enough dynamic memory. Now its your turn to work a bit and search in the board, about 80% of this whole board messages are about the fact our palm dont have enough memory and how to bypass this state.
People are upset to always give again and again the same answers to people who do nothing to get the answer in the board by searching more than the 5 last thread (when they even read them...) that's why you get answer who could seem rude but are very understandable in such situation...

I'm sorry about not giving any info about what device I have. It's however a PalmLifeDrive.
I did not get the error "not enough dynamic memory." My error was "error while unzipping", and after that there a new window just showing a 3, what about that?
I have been reading many threads about LD, some was helpfull, but the error i got was rather odd...

The error messages aren't very descriptive, right. But error while unzipping means that the launcher couldn't allocate enough memory, that is a block large enough to hold the unzipped game engine. This could also mean it wasn't a block of DBCache large enough for the engine. I don't know it at the moment. The engine is around 4MB. DBCache gets fragmented as well as dynamic memory. I fear you will have to softreset whenever you want to play Quake... That's the way it is, I'm sorry.
Regards Henk

To add: opimizations to ZQuake are necessary and should be done soon (Maybe in a month or such). Then Quake will fit better into smaller memory, but as I haven't fixed timidity, we still might lose the music...

Yes indeed, I'm forced to softreset my Palm everytime I want to play quake. I don't see a problem about that, except it takes long time and I don't have The full UDMH program, just the trail.
