When I push the up/down button + right/left button it does not do anything ! This is very annoying in many games when you want to move the character in diagonal... Is this normal ?

I works fine for me. Some games don't support diagnols. (Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia come to mind) Try it with Zelda LTTP.

It works for me, what version are you using? Have you changed any settings from the default?

Is your dump good? This really doesn't make any sense.

Sorry it was my fault, it works. The thing is that the diagonals seem to be harder to trigger than on the other pads, weird...

It works. The problem is the hardware design of the PSP pad.
Actually it is quite incredible that diagonal is THAT difficult to do with this pad... I believe it would be quite limitating for a lot of games (I am talking about PSP games here). (Ex. Street Fighter series...)
Well Sony had probably their reason for it (stability, cost, length of the life of the pad, etc...)
