Java is too slow for something like this, even C is kinda lacking, but it's far easier than ASM.

Actually there are some emulators for Java, for example this C64 emulator: www.dreamfabric.com/c64/However, even if it would be possible to do it the PSP would just be too slow. For a halfways playable SNES emulator in Java you'd probably need something in the range of 3 GHz.

Hum... I dont see your point here.
Snes9x is done in C, compiled directly for the PSP. So what the point of using Java inside the PSP ?
Now if you talk about having a Java virtual machine running on your PSP and be able to make your java program run on it, yes it is possible. But then you would need to define what is the set of API supported by your java VM. But then, anyway, it does not have something to do with SnesTYL.

Looks like he has a 2.0 PSP and wants to run the emulator someway (like desperate ) and is thinking crazy ways.
