I noticed that I have not seen any of the Dev team posting. How are you guys? Is life treating you good? Hope all is well. I am curious as to what other hobbies you guys have. What else is there to TYL? Prettz

this project seems dead.....besides snes9xTYLv2c is not as stable as uo_snes9x. i foud that TYL version freezes a lot more offten. there's also some audio issue with some games. UO verion is more stable and less problems.

ah, come on. just because they don't make a release every month doesn't mean "this project is dead" at all. yoyofr and the others were very productive the last years and just because of a few weeks of silence, i wouldn't think that. (actually i still hope that he's making a version for the GP2X and thats why the PSP version is paused....)

This SNES Emulator is dead no updates in months. Hopefully the new version gets release. I least give a date of release not a month. Also no update in the neocd for months. Need feedback please.

How would you consider this project to be dead just because they haven't updated? If you look through the board, you'll find that they stated it would be a couple more months until the next release. That was close to 2 months ago, and at this point we're expecting a release around the end of this month.
Honestly, I haven't had hardly any problems with this emulator, certainly not enough for me to warrant using another. YoYoFr and all these guys do great work, and I'm certainly happy with what they have so far. They say they're planning to offload the music/sound emulation onto the media processing chip of the PSP, and AFAIK, this hasn't been done yet.
It's worth the wait if it turns out the way they want it to.

If the music is redirected, emulation with sound willl be full tilt for almost everything (cept teh superFX chipsets) That would be sweet.

I dont think there is need to be worried about the project dying... yet... if you look in Ys profile u will see that he was on just 6 days ago. If the project had died he could have posted as much while he was on... and he didnt...

Give these guys time, they have the best SNES PSP emu out there, with almost perfect speed and compatibility, and I bet the next realease will be cronic, so be patient.

They probably on vacation resting and thinking of new ways to approve the snes emu & the other projects they are working on too. Be patient like Im doing. But also the dev team should at least say if they still working on the project, advice us at least. I also have donated too $100. I think thats enought.

Hi everybody !!!
Laxer3A at the keyboard...
Yes, we are still alive.
Actually yoyo, TZ and I met in Paris last month for the first time in 3 years of friendship over the internet.
And I would like to thanks our generous donator who paid two times our food in nice restaurant !!! :-)
Yoyo did some stuff and I did some stuff on the emu. But we have been VERY BUSY in our professional life for quite a long time.
Here is what is changed compare to the latest released version : - Prototype of the netplay feature. - Optimized code for mode7 "with no rotation" (like many RPG maps)
I would like to say that we are sorry to have not given any news but plz understand that we have a VERY BUSY working life too and that some time we want also to stop doing programming and do something else on our free time.
See you.

-----Project not dead----- Spoke to yoyoFR 4-5 days ago, these guys are busy working (real life) so the progress is moving slowly these days. So don't panic

I wonder if all there working on is the netplay and mode 7? Or if they also are trying to improve compatibility with games like Super Mario RPG or Yoshi's Island. Anyway, great work guys!

Mario RPG has great compatability, it just runs slowly because it had a secondary chip in the cart.

I meant to speed it up to work perfectly (although probably not likely by the next release).

I wouldn't guess that it would ever run at full speed unless someone rewrote the core in ASM for the PSP. That second processor was (nearly?) as fast as the main CPU on the SNES.

Hi! as laxer3a wrote, project's not dead (neocd alive too!) I've been really busy at work and so no time to code for quite a while... netplay is harder to implement than expected, but I hope to have something playable soon, since I should be able to code again starting next weekend... regarding a release date, hmmm.... sorry cannot tell! perhaps next weekend, perhaps before christmas, perhaps after.... but you can be sure there will be a new release and it won't be the last one ;-)

well im glad to hear you guys talk. it seems like the emulation scene really took a nose dive when people started to try and downgrade 2.0 psp's. i really cant wait for the net play feature even if there problems. time fixes most things.
