I'm a very satisfied user of Yoyofr's snes emulator and applaud him for it. I have a question though, on the snes TYL project page I saw a screenshot of Rudora no hihou with the english patch, I've tried to get my english patch (ips) to work with it with no luck. The instructions that came with the patch said to rename both the files to the same name, but stated this was a process for the Znes emulator. Is there another method? A reply would be greatly appreciated.

Use any IPS patcher you like and patch your ROM image. Make sure it's the correct image to apply that patch to, there are many versions of any image out there.

Usually I don't patch my rom since snes9xTYL can do it for you, assuming the ips file is standard.
you only have to rename the patch so that it has the same basename than the rom.
exemple :
rudra.zip
rudra.ips
