it certain games (secret of mana/evermore romancing saga 3, tales of phantasia), i get problems with the text when i open the equip/item menus.
The text appears very warped and it looks like only half of each letter is viewable. It makes it very hard to navigate the menu's etc.
I'm running the emulator through fanjita's eboot loader on a 2.0 PSP.
Also, one more question, is there anyway to completely optimize the speed on all games. On alot of games i get very low fps. I generally run at 333mhz 22 sound mhz and on auto framerate.

Try 2 or 1 frameskip. I' am not sure whats wrong with the ROMs. If you got them all from the same site, try another site. Some games will just never run full speed (Mario RPG, starfox, etc...)

yes, but if i use 2 or 1 frame skip, the sound slows down hugely....
and it's definatly not the roms that're the problem with the text...

Yeah, something got messed up with high res mode. If it's the problem I'm thinking of you should just ignore it, there are very few menus that use it. If it's not only happening in the name entry screen it's a different problem and you have a setting wrong or bad images.

hmm, i've messed around with the settings a lot but it still never seems to change...
Also when i play the a game on an emulator on my pc, the text is fine...

Ummm PC emulator is far better than Snes9xTYLv0.02c lol & have you tried using
Sound : On
Frequency : 44KHz
GFX engine : PSP accel. + accu. soft
Frameskip : 1 or 2
Rendering : whatever u like best
Render Pal as NTSC : Off (I really don't know the point of this)
Smoothing : On
Speed Limit : On
Video sync : Off (I really don't know the point of this)
Gamma Correction : Off
CPU clock : 333MHz
Show FPS : Off
This may help seeing the texts. If not its probably the ROM or like bl@ckm@ge987 said Snes9xTYL is never going to run at 100% Full Speed.

I think it's the high res mode problem. Your only option is to ignore it, for now.

Ya, that might be a problem too. Some translations have that issue. PM for a site to get Tales of Phantasia pre-patched. It works no problems on my PSP.
