I told a friend of mine who has a ver 2.00 PSP that I would put some homebrew on it for them, so I downloaded and installed fanjita's most recent eboot loader v0.9 which is posted as being able to run Snes TYL.
However, when I actually went to run Snes TYL it made it to the rom list screen, then the blue loading boxes that say the type of rom etc., but after that the screen just remained black.
I'm using the default folder name that is on Snes TYL that I downloaded from here.
I would really appreciate any advice on how to get this working.
Thanks.

Have you tried this with more than one rom? If it was one or two, it could've very well been the roms.

Yes, I tried it with several roms and they all froze after the load.
I use Snes TYL on my 1.5 with the same roms, so I know it's not a rom problem.
After looking around on the official fanjita forums it seems that this is a common problem, and people simply recommend using eboot loader 8.5 instead. So, I wrote an email to fanjita suggesting to him that he change Snes TYL to 8.5 compatible and not 9.0 as he has it on his list.

I have been using Snes TYL 0.2C on my Psp that has 2.0 firmware with the Eboot Loader version 0.9 with no problems at all. Not even one problem has been experienced.

Also you should check the configuration file, particularly the global options because some of these settings can stop emulators from working correctly. I think emailing Fanjita to suggest he change it to 0.85 compatible only was pointless unless you have tried all configurations known to work.
Once you cannot get it to work by trying different roms, checking configuration settings etc then perhaps it could be deemed incompatible. However, it works fine for me and others.
