here it is ! yoyofr92.free.fr don't expect it to be perfect, it's only a version 0.3, the road is still long... changes are detailed on the homepage and in the zip archives. I cannot test the standard (usermode) version since my psp is a 1.5 and I don't want to update it So if someone can test on 2.0+ loaders.... And before people ask : mario rpg, kirby, starfox & so on are still slow and will stay slow, since they require special chipset to be emulated and psp isn't powerful enough. Have fun!

Ok, heres what I have to report so far. Some games have HUGE performance increases. But unfortunatly, some games "Like Megaman" are still about the same. This is rather confusing to me too, because with games like Megaman, turning off the sound is all you need to bring the game speed to a constant 60fps. I was thinking that the media engine would help that out a little, but I guess not. Oh well, I was kinda hoping for the perfect emulator, but I guess that is pure fantasy. I'll just be happy with what has been released so far. Thanks Yoyo and Laxer. (and whoever else contributed)

thanks for the update =)
i just tested the new settings with 2 games (mario, metroid) and something seems strange:
i used metroid in 0.2 with: frameskip=0 vsync=on sound=11kHz psp acc+appr. software
and the game was running full speed like on real hardware.
but with the 0.3me i can't get it to full speed with these settings. i tried all graphic modes. only if i go to frameskip=1 (and that will cause interference).
is it possible that the PSP isn't running at 333MHz or test-developing-settings are left? because even scrolling through the rom browser is slower than in 0.2c (i just compared).

Just out of curiousity, what games did get the speed boosts from the new upgrades? Most of them seem either the same, or in some cases worse. Ive only found 3 games that are running better so far.

Glad to see the updated version..I'll report what I've noticed so far.
I'm testing on the standard version using fanjita's eboot loader 9 for 2.0. As someone else posted normal gameplay seems to be significantly slower than the previous version. I tested a few games without sound including Super Street Fighter, Mario, Mario Kart, and Mario RPG and they played perfectly fine.

allright guys,i got some weird results also if you experience slowdowns try setting the sound to 44Khz i tried Metroid and got horrible slow down with my original settings (22Khz) even if i changed the frame skip then i set the sound to 44Khz and frameskip one(1) and i get perfectly smooth gameplay oh yeah i have a PSP (2.0) and this is probably the best EMU on PSP at the moment (NEO-GEO psp CD is pretty good also ) i just wanted to say: Merci infiniment pour tout Yoyofr, tout t'est effort sont grandement aprécié

Yep, I noticed the same. The sound has to be 32 or 44 kHz - or else no smooth gameplay. I can live with that!

Hey I'm really dumb and can't get this to work. I'm on 2.60. I tried copying all of the EBOOT.PBP files into different folders and they all show up on the PSP Game thing, but as soon as I try to run them, I get a corrupted data thing.

can anyone tell me the settings i should use for this emu e.g. how much should the cpu clock speed be? this setting should work for most games CPU : 333Mhz sound frequency : 44Khz GFX engine : PSP accel. + accu. soft. Frameskip : 1 or 0(set it higher for slow RPG or other games till you get 60FPS,or you can set it to auto, but i don't like auto) Rendering,PAL/NSTC,Smoothing,gamma correction, show FPS : your pref. speed limit:on video sync:off (with the setting off i get 4-5 fps faster) speed hacks/fast mode7 : on

Video sync reduces tearing could you explain more in detail, what is tearing? does it affect the speed of the emu? should it be on by default?

Screan tearing is when the fps is too high and the psp screen can't refresh the screen fast enough and the psp screens looks like it "tears."
Although, I do not know the difference between speed limit and Vsync though, sounds like the same...?

Either I really am retarded, or something, but I cannot get it to run on my 2.6 machine. Copied over to PSP\GAME\SNES9XTYL\ and then all the files are in there. EBOOT.PBP and Logo.bmp. When I tried running it on my PSP it just says it's corrupted. Do I have to run it any way other than from Game-Memory Stick?
Any help would be intensely awesome.

0.3 doesn't work on 2.5 using fanjita's gta eloader. It gives me a memory stick error after the disclaimer screen and there is no rom list. I used both versions too.

i think vsync is vertical synchronization. you can see this in fast horizontal scrolling games, like mario (if you run from left to right, so the background is scrolling from right to left). if vsync is off, the top of the screen moves (each frame is drawn from top to bottom) at the top faster as at the bottom. or the bottom is "too slow" and you see vertical distortion. happens in most emulators, because vsync on costs time (each frame has to wait that the previous frame is fully drawn until he self is drawn). hm, ounds a bit funny, but i cant explain it better at 5 in the morning

Video sync reduces tearing It doesn't only reduce it - it eliminates tearing completely. But it's way slower in this emu. But with Vsync off there isn't that much tearing, either.

if its running slow for you make sure that you go into hack/debug and turn on fast mode7 and save the settings so it stays on. Ive got mario RPG running at a good full speed over here I love these guys.
