ok.. i just found this out
(this is only for 2.0 psp users, who have had saving problems for the 0.3 version of the snes9x tyl)
most of you should still have you 0.2c version hanging around somewhere in your pc. otherwise, download it again.
now, if you already have the 0.3 version installed in your psp, just delete the logo.bmp(which would be a black picture with a logo on the bottom-right hand corner) and replace it with the 0.2c logo (which is a white picture with mario and his gang pullin vegies)
and for those of you who have converted back to 0.2c just to allow save state, just download the 0.3 and switch the eboot.pbp ONLY (leave the logo)
Tho it kinda* looks wierd on the menu, it enables you to save state!!!!
hopefully this could prevent yoyofr from goin through another crapload of work, though he could release a different logo that does not block save state & look better.

Can someone who has this issue try taking the newer logo.bmp and convert it from 24bit to 8bit color and see if that fixes the issue also?
You can do this from MS Paint by opening the BMP and doing a File > Save and pick 256 color (8bit) mode. MS Paint doesn't give as good of results as using Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop though.

Kinda, you still need the eboot loader for 2.00 and the eLoader and GTA for 2.01+.

Great to know there is a way to bypass the problem... Still I guess the better thing was to release a quick fix when this is sorted out. Hope the devs solve this...

@ thecradle Thanks for the contribution you've made to TYL. Im sure that you've helped alot in keeping the TYL following strong and faithful. Your finding has been posted on numerous homebrew sites btw, so keep up your good work. If you ever feel like working out some of the other minor flaws TYL has, Im sure no one would object. Btw, does anyone know if Yoyo is planning on releasing the older source yet?

thanks for your finding! I posted it on the homepage! ^=^ I guess the new 24bpp bg isn't so good : slower menu & more ram used... moreover this point a limit for 2.00 psp version => homebrews can be loaded but don't have access to 100% of the ram...

I did notice that scrolling was a lot slower on v0.3me. I think you should stick with the old one. The new one is cool, but the old was is apparently better.

thecradle, I posted your discovery on dcemu news to help spread the word, hope you don't mind. Following on from this a dcemu user called "anger" converted the original image to indexed 256 colors for anyone who wants to keep the new design, and doesn't know how to do this. Its available here: www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=18470

I agree. Speed is all. I really dont care what the background looks like as long as the games run fast.
