My suggestion, play with it till something works. Fool with the calibrate screen option. Mess with the debug. Anything!

okay, I've tried and it seems it's related to the way the game is coded. the menu are using the snes hires mode (512 pixels wide) with very thin (1pixel wide) font. as this 512 pixels wide screen is rendered in a 256pixels wide texture, sometimes the font become unreadable...

So, that means I can't play it over snes9xTYL0.3me. Yoyo, can you do something to fix it in your new version?

hmm I did a quick "fix" last night : it's not clean but it helps to read the menu. in fact I'm looping between 5 differents rendering : -normal rendering -1 pixels left shifted -1 pixels right shifted -1 pixels top shifted -1 pixels bottom shifted as the framerate is about 60fps, it does flicker (60/5 => 12fps), but not too much and it helps to see the fonts. I'll try to implement another mode in software rendering...

I haven't seen any other game with this issue, that is odd. Wonder why....

this issue is caused by the gfx used for the font : most of the time fonts are 2 or more pixels wide. Here it's a really thin font, with only one pixel wide. When you render hires snes, basically you have a 1:2 scaling factor => *X*X can be rendered as ** or XX (1/2 is skipped). so if X is the font pixel & * bg pixels, the font is hidden! that's why rotating the render between 5 different settings can help : 1/ first time, *X*X_ => **_ 2/ second time, we scroll one pixel on the left, *X*X_ => _*X*X => _XX .... ... hmm what do you mean ?

Look forward to your new version with a really new performance. Yeah, what do you mean? This EMU is already extraordinary performance-wise considering the complexities of SNES emulation. I am so much in awe of the TYL team and support them greatly. Thanks YOYO & Team!

True, TYL is amazing, and yet, it is still going to get better. With sound completely on the media engine, speed is going to increase quite a bit in the near future.
I personally am still hoping for full speed Mario Kart or Kirby.

... hmm what do you mean ? NEW means newer! Including newer sound engine, newer speed and, also, newer font display for some certain games. In fact, I raelly thank YOYO's splendid hard work. I can play sfc games on my PSP just because of your talent. ·Ç³£¸ÐлÄ㣡(Chinese phrase for "thank you very much!") There's a Chinese proverb: There's no best, but there's better. That is what my NEW is.

Yes, the next TYL will be great. To see what the speed increase will be like, just test out games with the sound off and thats what emulation will be like in the next version. (I think)
Yoyo said this stuff will no longer be a problem soon. We will be able to look forward to clean sound with no artifacts and a big speed increase too. Way to go Yoyo!
