well i beleive a 2.6 downgrader is being worked on so youll have to update to that when it does and then downgrade but otherwise your you will have to wait.

If I was you, I would sell that Psp on Ebay or to a friend and then purchase a 1.52, 1.5 or a 2.0 Psp from ebay. I think it is worth it because there are some exciting developments you wont want to miss out on in the future. I got my ceramic white Psp from ebay and after downgrading is now a 1.5 and will stay that way.

What i did to get a 2.0 was I went to gamestop and bought a used PSP for $199. Most of thes PSP's are older vesion ie... 2.0 < it is used but i plays most Homebrew. w00t

Always stay at the lowest version possible, with each update Sony added more protection that prevents you from doing stuff. Stick with 2.01 untill you see a downgrader for a higher version. Wouldn't you feel bad when one comes out for 2.5 and you're already on 2.6?
That or sell it and find a used console with the version you want.

d**n! Thanks joebro for pointing out that guide. I was in line at Best Buy the morning of March 23rd 2005 and sure enough there is NO letter on the package under the voltage rating indicating that it is an initial launch 1.5 firmware. I will be scouring the best buys in my area for another 1.5-2.0 although I sort of wanted a CERAMIC WHITE PSP but I am undecided.
I don't think I like how the buttons are a solid white on the ceramic PSP's rather than the translucent ones found on the black variation. But supposedly there is a better quality SHARP LCD with a better refresh rate on the Ceramic PSP's.

The ceramic white is nice, but it gets dirty fast. My father in law has one. It got really dirty really fast. I was suprised.

Do you know if his ceramic white PSP is better with motion blur or color bleeding. As I stated above, the white PSP's have been said to use the SHARP LCD and look sharper and don't suffer from the slow refresh. If anyone knows anything about this I would love to hear your opinion.

same screen, the buttons are different though. They fixed the [] button in particular.
