Running Snes9xTYLme on firmware 1.5
Ok heres the story... i was wasting away the hours on my psp and was goin somewhere with the family and brought my PSP along. I was playing some good old final fantasy 3 getting shadow back into my party along the way. luckily i got him right as we were getting there. so i exited out of the emulator and shut the PSP down and slid it into the back seet pocket. 4-5 hours later we returned to the car and i busted out the PSP to play some more final fantasy 3. all was good but then i got bored of it and started playing different games. i got back to the house and went to the menu then selected "are you sure you want to quit" and said yes. dont know if this was a bad way to exit the emu as it took like 1 min longer than it normally should have... so i put away the psp. 1 day later i decided to play some final fantasy 3 before i was to be picked up by a friend of mine but when i selected snes9xTYLme it gave me an error message like 00171231 or something like that. so i tried cleaning off them mem stick by blowing on it. to no avail it still didnt work. so i played an NES emulator and to my surprise, it worked, but the backround image on the gui was very corrupted. so this concerned me a bit. i then plugged in the memstick to my comp and looked to see what the problem might be. i started by looking in the snes9xTYLme% folder, and everything seemed fine. I then opened the other folder and it was completely empty!! i was so pissed because i just waisted 20 hours playing FF3/6 for no reason at all and lost all my other saves not to mention i have to put all the roms back on.
Now i dont know what might have caused this I can only think of 3 things
- the cold temperature inside the car corrupted my memory stick.
-or when i exited Snes9xTYLme with the menu button, it started a malicious reaction which would probably be a nasty bug of sorts
-Or my brother played my psp in its downtime and turned off the power in the middle of the emulation which he denies even playing. it was in the same spot that i left it when i started to play it again.
so you can be the judge. maybe someone could explain what happened and hopefully my downfall will benefit the emulator in some way shape or form which would be very worth 20 hours of lost FF3 time in the longrun if that were the case.
Sorry for this horrifically long story i only hope that this problem, if it even is one, can be fixed.
Oh and when i reinstalled the emu. in the root directory of Snes9xTYLme there is an infinite amount of mumbo jumbo files if that is evene relevant. guess ill have to reformat.
