Hi, I don't want to sound like an idiot but I'm having trouble installing your fine product. I just downgraded my PSP to 1.5 from 2.0, and I was able to play nintendo roms through it's eloader. That's how I was able to access the games. However, when I downgraded my old eloader was gone (I'll assume this is normal.) Anyway, I extracted snes9x and my roms onto the game folder on my memory stick. I'm afraid that's where I get in a bit of trouble. I'm stumped on what to do next, I don't know HOW to actually access the emulator. Looking on my memory stick while on my PSP I only see "Currupted data" Someone please help me, I just bought this PSP no more than two weeks ago and I was really pumped about playing my favorite snes games on the go.
sincerely, someone who needs help.

Basicly, now that you're running 1.5 you can play the games directly without hte use of the eloader So all you have to do is extract the 2 folders that come with the game (1.5 - I HIGHLY recommend grabbing the ME version for a massive speed boost) Anyways, the 2 folders in the 1.5 folder of the .rar archive should be snes9xTYL snes9xTYL% Place *both* of these folders in the /PSP/GAME folder and voila... it should work You *will* have a corrupted data icon, just ignore it, but never delete it.. it has to be there (for Kxploit) But anyways that should do it.. you can put your roms wherever you want, you'll be able to navigate to them from inside snestyl enjoy!

I really hate to sound like a noob here, but I'm still having a bit of trouble. Thanks for your help so far though.

Hello, Running 3.90 M33 Switched over to 1.50 kernel. I put both the snes9xTYL and the snes9xTYL% folders in the GAME150 folder. I took both of these folders from the 1.5 folder. All I keep getting is "The game could not be started. (80020148)". All my backup iso's and csos are running fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using a slim or a fat, and what exactly do you mean by "switched over to"?

I am using a fat psp. I used the instructions on youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=THCe_AWgNuUIn recovery mode I changed the setting Game folder homebrew to the 1.5 kernel. Thanks

That change is unnecessary since the GAME150 folder automatically tells the PSP to use the 1.50 for any programs within that folder What I'm thinking happened here is that you did not install the 1.50 kernel add-on. You can download it here, with instructions on how to install it (it's very simple) www.psp-hacks.com/2008/02/10/150-kernel-addon-for-390-m33-v2-released/I took a quick look at the video, and noticed he recommends 0.4.1 standard... I don't know why he does this, but it's absolutely false. With custom firmware you should *always* be using the ME version, it's just plain faster 0.4.2 has a few bug fixes and added functionnalities over 0.4.1 (but sadly also introduces the save state sound bug). The bug is fixed in Ruka's build, let me know if you get it working and I'll dig up Ruka's build for ya

I've followed the instructions throughout this thread (plus one or two extra tips here and there), but I'm still not able to get SNES9x TYL (ME) working on my PSP. I've successfully: - Changed the firmware to 3.90 M33-2
- Recovery booted and changed 'Game folder homebrew' to 1.50 Kernel
- Rebooted normally and activated USB mode
- Copied s9xTYL-0.4.2me/1.5/* into [ms]/PSP/GAME150/
SNES9x shows up fine under Game >> Memory Stick (along with the 'Corrupted Data' counterpart) in the XMB, but every time I try to launch it I get: I've tried downloading and running the 1.50 Kernel Addon for 3.90 v2, but I get the following error when I try to install it: Please could someone point out how stupid I am so I can get this working. Thanks in advance.

Download the original 1.50 firmware update (official), rename it to 150.PBP, and put it in the root of your memory stick in order for the addon to work

Ah, that makes sense now. Thank you. I've only been able to find the North American 1.50 firmware though, and I'm using a UK PSP. Is this still OK to use? Edit: Nevermind. I was too impatient to wait and tried the North American firmware anyway. All seems fine and emulator is now running at last! Thanks again for the help.

Are you using a slim or a fat, and what exactly do you mean by "switched over to"? I have the same problem and downloaded and ran the 1.5 kernel update and it said something was inexsistant. Sound familiar? Thank you

Are you sure you have the original 1.50 firmware update (official), renamed it to 150.PBP, and put it in the root of your memory stick as mentioned above?

It says press cross to begin installation of 1.50 subset or r to exit. I hit x and I get "incorrect or inexistant 150.pbp at root". Any ideas?

So I have a problem now.
This app worked really well for a long time on my PSP, but since I last upgraded to the latest CUSTOM FIRMWARE (NOT SONY OFFICIAL, just wanted to make that point clear) it hasn't been working. So I was wondering if anyone has any insight to this problem?
Is it the fact that I'm on an m33 instead of an OE cfw? Before I didn't have to do that Brown Ale thing to make it work, although I do have the GTA required for it should I need to, but if that's the problem from now on will I need to run that every time I want to play SNES9x_TYL? Cuz' that would suck a lot.
I'm gonna go mess around with my redownloaded files.

how do i know if i'm a 1.5 user? i'm new to all this but i just don't know anything about it all this info is too confusing for me 1.5 is a firmware version, current firmware is 4.01 you have to be on 1.5 or higher custom firmware, e.g. 4.01m33 if you have a slim, you cannot ever use the 1.5 ME version and will have to use smcm e.g.

First of all you need to identify wether you are on a PSP fat or a PSP slim - if you're on a fat you'll need to download the 1.5 addon for your cfw If you're on a slim you have 2 options: 1. Set up the time machine and run the emulator on the 1.5 hybrid 2. (easier) Find and download chillywilly's version, run that instead
