After multiple tries of trying to get the eloader to work on my 2.0 (it always froze the PSP and then 10 secs later shut it down), I downgraded to 1.5... now when I try to run the emulator I get this:
from the memory stick (under game) I pick snes9x, then I get the nice little psp logo thing, then it goes to black screem, finally it ends up with a message: "The game could not be started. (80020001)"
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi!
If you are getting this message while trying to run homebrew, you should use KXPloit. It is a program that generates a loader for pbp files on the psp (firmware 1.5). You give a folder name for the psp, the pbp file and the driveletter of your psp. And it generates the folders on the psp, copies the pbp-file, generates a loader and an icon. It's very easy.
KXPloit is in spanish, but after installing, you can change the language in the menu "idioma".
Greetings
Tobi

Hmm probably the wrong place to ask this but you got my curiosity What makes KXploit different from eloader? I thought the whole point of downgrading to 1.5 was so taht you could run homebrew directly without needing anything else O.o

KXplot makes it possible to run homebrew on 1.5 without it only 1.0 can do homebrew and you could in theory run the eloader but it would be a huge waste of time the kxploit thing is fast and u can just run it from the psp game folder instead of doing the whole gta thing and loading it up everytime which takes 4ever

you're dead wrong all homebrew can be run on 1.5 without the use of any other programs, you just click on games, then memory stick, then play your emulators. i'm doing it right now with my 1.5.

From my understanding of it, this KXPloit thing is patcher that patches your EBOOT's to make them work on 1.5, and most EBOOTs seem to come pre-patched (i.e. "KXPloit ready")

1.0 is the only one that can launch compiled EBOOT directly without any problem.
1.5 need to "tweak" stuff and setup a weird path folder (finished by %) to be able to launch homebrew directly.(=thus KExploit)
So yes, 1.0 is the ONLY version that launch directly WITHOUT doing something special. So yes, 1.0 and 1.5 are the one that can launch DIRECTLY.
All upper version need a loader program to do the job.
