The Title says it all:
No matter what version of SNES9X I start, the controls get really whacky and the system often freezes and crashes. To be more specific, the down button seems to be stuck in the "down" position, X and O dont work at all, home does, square does also. Obviously this leaves me no way to use the program (1st screen = "press X or O if you agree"). Strange thing is, I had SNES TYL installed, then upgraded to 2.00, then downgraded back to 1.50 and now this problem.
Here are my attempted solutions: Format stick, reinstall try other version turn off/on ask on this board for help
anyways, none of these (so far) has worked, which means that I am stuck, so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please advise.
Thanks for reading and thank you in advance for all of your wonderful advice and insight.

Congradulations, you own a psychotic PSP. If you have truely done all that you have claimed, then you are truely screwed. If you care about emulation that much, then I suppose you could sell your PSP and buy a different on or something. Maybe just try all those steps again and hope to God it works or something.

Only with TYL !?!?!? THATS REALLY WEIRD !!!
Corona > Are you suggesting him to cheat on somebody else to get a working PSP ? ;-) As a "senior member" you should show more "integrity".

Haha. Not at all Laxer. I was actually suggesting he sell his PSP to someone who doesn't care about homebrew (since the emulator is all thats causing the problems) and obtain a PSP that can play TYL.
"Cheating" is quite the primative term. Most people know that when obtaining used goods "buyer beware", but I suggest maybe that if your morals are too high to let someone else be cursed with your broken PSP(even if they don't want to use it for homebrew), then you should write an angry letter to Sony and demand that they repair your faulty device. You paid for a PSP, you deserve to use it.

Well, Sony is hardware maker and as so, I believe they have no legal rights about the usage you make of their hardware. Same as beeing sued because you buy a ballpen and put it in your *ss :-). After all, you do whatever you want with it...
If they have a problem with their OS that allow to do homebrew, it has nothing to do with the user.
Same as if you send your PSP for a fix to Sony. I can be quite sure that you can sue them if they send you a PSP with a higher firmware while you ask to the support to send your PSP back and fixed with the same old firmware as before.(As long as you didnt touch/flash the firmware)
Now as you downgraded, you lost your warranty. (because yes, they CAN ask that user didnt do this or that to their hardware).
Running is one thing, modifiying is another.
