I downloaded a program called Card Export, which works great and lets me access the SD card like an external drive when I have my Palm connected to my PC's USB port. The program is not free and it expired so I have to buy it if I want to use it again. Is there a similar program that is free? Thanks

There is Pilot Install which lets you hotsync directly to the card and is 4x faster than normal HotSync. I think the link is somewhere in this forum. If not, google for it.

Thanks Tinnus, but I already have that program. I'm looking for a program that I can just copy/paste files to the SD card

Nope, nothing like Card Export AFAIK.
But Pilot Install is great if you just want to send ROMs over. It's a pain for big files though.

You can use this walktrough:
If you use Zlauncher 4.2 (what i have) you may Drag the CardExport Icon to the Recycle then a dialog will appear then you must uncheck "delete application" and "Move to trashbin" then you will be able to use Card Export one time... if you want to use again you must repeat these steps...
