Many of you had already asked in this forum for the solution to the no sound problem, well, here it goes:
Do this and the sound bug will be gone (Don't know for sure if you can have Menu music on, menu fx on and pad beep on):
1 - Load Super Pang (problably there are other games that work to). 2 - Confirm you have sound in the game and go to menu and "Make Settings DEFAULT) 3 - Load the rom you want to play without exiting snesTYL.
Now the game you want to play will always have sound after loading the savestate. Now you can turn on music menu, menu fx and pad beep if you want.
You only have to do this to make the first savestate, after making the first savestate you don't need to load super pang. Only load the game you want to play and enjoy.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The first savestate must be saved on an empty slot, and never over a savestate with no sound. (Erase all the no sound savastate you have and if it doesn't work erase also all the settings from the PROFILES folder).
It works every single time for me. Hope it does for all of you to.

Hello, first time posting, was brought here because of the sound problem with save state.
I tried the above with Gradius III (using "Make settings DEFAULT") it didn't work.
Then I tried it with Super Pang, following the instructions by imo and everything is working properly now! So don't get discouraged if it doesn't work with other games, just go download Super Pang.
Also loading old saved state saved prior to going through the above procedure will not have sound.
Thanks to IMO for this fix.

Tried with many many roms and it didn't work, it seems to be specific to Super Pang... Can't even begin to understand why or how this works, but it works! Just as a note: my copy of super pang (must be a defective rom or something) doesn't work at all - it loads a black screen with no sound or anything.. but it still worked for fixing the sound issue with stave states O.o

Like I said, my copy of super pang didn't even work, but it still fixed the bug I know someone that found a working version of the game and it also fixed the bug, so it *seems* that specific versions don't matter... Given your setup (from your other post) I can't say anything definitive Luckily you now have the option to downgrade to 1.5 if you want, it might fix all your problems

and nowadays you can downgrade anything that is 2.71 or below anyway! (even 2.8 i believe)

Works for me with TMNT: Turtles in Time.
I thought it might because I never lost sound while loading savestates in that game. Hope it works for others as well!

Hi, maybe this could be interesting... After some simple trial&error investigation I found:
a) You can use Shadowrun instead of SuperPang. Works the same.
b) Lost Vikings 2 seems to lose sound - even with this trick.
If somebody might have a version of the latter that actually works after saves stating, maybe he could be that kind and tell us!?

Well, I'm going to add some remarks concerning that procedure. First, yes, it DOES work.
Second, the Super Pang version I used is Super Pang (E); standing for the European version
Load this game, and then make whatever changes to the settings you'd like to make. Choose the best settings that conforms to your liking; be it a faster processor or a full screen rendering.
Then, use "Save settings as Default" option.
You're now done. Just load any game you want, and if you'd like to test the procedure, create a savestate on AN EMPTY SLOT. You will find after resetting or restaring the application, that the sound is there.
Below are a few quick hints and important points;
1. Only savestates created AFTER this procedure are affected and thus will work ok. Any savestate created BEFORE the procedure will not be affected. 2. Don't save on a slot occupied by a savestate created BEFORE the procedure. It's always a good idea to remove all old slots (if unwanted) and start cleanly. 3. Don't EVER use "Save settings as Default" option in any game other than Super Pang. If you need to change a GLOBAL setting (i.e. to all games), load Super Pang and make the changes, then set as default. 4. Should anything goes wrong and the procedure effect goes away, just load Super Pang and use the "Save settings as Default" option again.
EDIT; You can change settings for any game individually. It won't mess anything up.
Common errors;
1. Forgetting to use the "Save settings as Default" option after loading Super Pang. 2. Saving on a slot occupied by a savestate created BEFORE the procedure. 3. Using "Save settings as Default" option in any game other than Super Pang.
Too far, for me it's working great. I'll report if anything goes wrong in the furure (I hope not).

Well, I've just found it won't work with E.V.O. So, in short, if you're looking for a version which supports savestate sound on loading, download Ruka's version. It's the same as SNES9xTYL ME. The only lil' downside is some tiny numbers that shows up on the upper left corner of the screen. Well, you get to get used to it after some time. Here's the direct link to the file (just put the EBOOT on the original one, overwriting it): rukapsp.hp.infoseek.co.jp/PSPSoftware/labSNESTYL/0032EBOOT.zipAnd here's the original website of Ruka: rukapsp.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Make sure savestates are done on empty slots, not on slots occupied by the no-sound savestates. Hope this solves your problem permanently. IT DOES!

Probably the best version of this great emulator is the unofficial version based on Ruka unofficial Snes9xTYL made by Davex: Features: * No sound bug after loading savestates * Quick save state [press RTRIGGER + SELECT] and quick load state[ RTRIGGER + START] * Auto-fire [Available in CONTROLS main menu] With this update the emulator is almost perfect. But has it been ported to slim yet? (I use the time machine so it doesn't really have an effect on me, just curious)
